i went into my favorite cafe this afternoon for lunch and saw a husband and wife that go to the congregation i used to go to.
the woman is a pioneer and has been for years and her husband is an elder who i've talked to a couple of times since i stopped going to meetings 3 years ago but i have not talked to her in 3 years.. when i got my lunch, i looked up and noticed them sitting by the window so i went over to them and said hello.
he said hi but when i said hello to the woman she just kinda looked at me.

it's getting to be that time of year again.
i don't really want to gear up for the new school year but have no choice!.
anybody else here homeschool and, if so, what curriculum do you use?
Hi StAnn I home schooled my daughter for one year in her secondary education here in the UK. It was hard going but worth it at the time, as she was going through some problems. She passed her GCSEs with such high marks a couple of years later. Now doing her A levels in prep for Uni.

came out as an apostate to the wife, came out about the depression, anger at being second fiddle in her life to 9 old guys in brooklyn, came out about having turned atheist, came out about the indiscrections, the tobacco use, everything.. fuck.
me..
NVL - I wont add anymore since you've had so much advice already although diverse. I just hope you're ok and that you all come out of this with as little damage as possible. I hate the WTBS for these tragedies.

suppose an active jehovah's witness sees a worldly person abusing a worldly child; for example, touching her genitals, and the witness goes to the police.
the worldly police will take action.. now, suppose the same jehovah's witness also sees a witness abusing a witness child in the same way, touching her genitals.
the witness knows he can't go to the elders because there are not two witnesses to the fact.. does the witness get to think that there is something very wrong about the two witnesses rule?
dgp - you are possibly getting confused between my post and truthseekeriam's ?

Even crazier in some ways is that JWs count 'wordly' witnesses to a crime, invalid. When my ex threw me from a jeep and punched me in the face, it was seen by 5 worldly people who were at their property where he'd stopped the jeep. The elders refused to consider their testimonies when my ex denied what he'd done. The elders came to me and suggested that possibly I had injured myself to get him into trouble ???!!!! Some months later just before his court case (which was brought by the Prosecution Service in fact) the ex put in a plea of guilty.
I got no apologies of course.

someone told me there are few kingdom halls with kitchens, i was surprised about it.
.
All the K Halls I've visited in the UK have kitchens. I worked in Purchasing on the Quickbuild team and a kitchen was always incorporated into the build. In recent years however because of our now stringent Health & Safety laws here most of the kitchens dont meet the criteria for 'catering' as such, so they're only used for tea making, warming up food etc.
