  hi everyone this is my first time to do any like send an email to strangers but from reading a lot of your comments i feel.

  i can talk heres my history i joined the jws in the early 80s i was with them for about 4 yrs i was in centeral in dublin.

  i left at about the time of john may and martin merryman and others although i couldnt fully accept thier rules when the split came it was easy for me to leave and now back to the present !

  Jesus Is Not the Atonement.

  the new testament is full of applications of passover imagery to the execution of jesus.

  however, passover had nothing to do with atonement for sins.

  in this video, we'll see how jesus' death failed to fulfill the actual jewish ritual for atonement on the day of atonement (yom kippur)--this despite all the claims that jesus perfectly fulfilled the law.. what say some of our in house theologians?.

  as i see it, there are three looming threats that all have the potential - individually or combined - to bring the wbts to its knees, at least in the united states, anyway.. 1. youth retention.

  the young people aren't buying it.

  the watchtower will argue that faithless young people are giving in to demonic persuasion and leaving the truth.

  I still believe in God. I believe he got me out of the WTBS and is still bringing out many others. On this basis as well as the effects we're already seeing I think it will collapse while I'm still alive - and I'm not so young lol.

  i am currently just sick with grief.

  all the jokes i've made about me never "falling out of the truth" and self confidence about my spirituality.

  Grandma Jones - Welcome to the forum. You will find kindness and support here from so many people who have suffered so much. I too thought 'apostates' were sent from Satan - turns out they've helped me so very much on the road to healing. I was an anointed sister and 'in' for nearly 30 years. I too went through the devastation when I started to research ....so I know how you're feeling. You will be ok just take it slowly and carefully as others have said.

  I dont mean to pry but I feel you could be from the UK? If so and I can help further please let me know.

  i'm so glad i happened to stumble across this website cause i really need to express what i've been holding inside for quite some time.

  i'm 27 and was born and raised in the "truth".

  i'm married and my husband was also raised as a jw, been married for almost 7 years and have two kids who have just started kindergarten and preschool.

  Welcome to the gang - my advice read 'Crisis of Conscience' by Ray Franz and then you'll know what to do. And as you can probably already see this forum is a great place to be with lots of help and support. Dont be afraid to ask the questions even though the answers may hurt.

  this past weeks's column actually is the end of a series on complex post traumatic stress disorder (c-ptsd) that spanned from week 18-20. it includes a definition of c-ptsd as well as applications to our lives as witnesses and ex-witnesses and some techniques to help us through the recovery process.. c-ptsd differs from ptsd in that ptsd is most often the result of a one time experience.

  dr. herman defines c-ptsd as:.

  a history of subjection to totalitarian control over a prolonged period (months to years).

  They did with me in one cong I was in. I'd exposed some scandal in an elder's family and I got the cold shoulder for over a year from the whole body except for one little old elder who wouldnt be bullied.
