70-Years-Of-Servatude
I lurked for a while. I've made a couple of posts with some questions and a few experiences. I'm still semi active for my family's sake. I'm the one in the back of the hall that more oftern than not is not wearing a suit jacket. I stopped going out in service because my conscience won't allow me to go to the door and tell someone else that the WTS is god's spirit directed org. I study with my family, but only from the Bible and an encyclopedia if at all possible.
The WTS is not christ like. The org. has many, many resources at its disposal. Many bros. and sist. have hit some really hard times lately. I have an issue with the lack of concern for the individual publisher, and the underpriviledged all over the world. I couldn't gulp down organizational salvation. I couldn't see praying only for our fellow witnesses. Why should I count hours talking about Jesus? I feel terrible for the woman with three kids in an African country that walked three days and nights to get to an assembly because she thought that God would be mad if she didn't make use of this wonderful arraingement.
The lack of compassion for the poor was the beginning for me. Next was the UN involvement. I can remember praying for the witnesses in Malawi when I was a little boy. I later found out what really happened and I nearly puked. I'm researching the UN, Hitler, Mexico, OSCE, and anything else I can get my hands on to expose the double standard of the WTS so I can show my parents and extended family once I have compiled it all. I don't care if they do anything with the info, I just want them to know, and know why I'm fading.
I don't have enough service hours to have any priviledges, but they said I can still clean the hall and cut the grass. I told them if I'm not fit to carry a mic I'm not fit to push a lawnmower or a vacuum cleaner. I was offered a shephearding call. I told them that I'm sure I'm already on "the list" and after a shep. call I would probably be put on another "list" because I don't think I can accept the answers that I will recieve to the questions that I have.
Sorry for rambling and thanks for listening. As Crisis said it's therapeutic.

What Are Some Of The Dumbest Beliefs JW's Have?
by minimus ini know there are a lot.. one belief i never understood is that blood fractions might be ok for a christian but not "whole blood".
to me the "blood doctrine" is ridiculous from a scriptural point of view..

I think it's if you pray hard enough for the FDS that they will be shown to be right in all that they have printed over the years and you'll live because you didn't doubt them

Looking for questions to get my foot in the door
by 70-Years-Of-Servatude ini'm looking for anyone who may have a tried and true question that i can ask my elder father so that i can get him to think about the fds and the fact that they don't have holy spirit to direct us.
i've tried the un, 607/587, and the generation.
has something else worked for anyone out there.. he has said regarding the u.n. that it was an oversight.

Randy- Thank you. There is a ton to assimilate in your post. I will and then try something. I have lurked at feeminds also. Have you or someone you know sent scanned copies of the "Letters from Mexico" from Franz's book to the FDS? If so did they reply as to their authenticity or did they ignore the inquiry? I have so many questions
Serenity-Thanks for your thoughts. I will try to isolate what I think will bother mom and dad the most and ask them for clarification on it again and see if I can get some open minded thoughts.

Hello
I'm looking for anyone who may have a tried and true question that I can ask my elder father so that I can get him to think about the FDS and the fact that they don't have holy spirit to direct us. I've tried the UN, 607/587, and the generation. Has something else worked for anyone out there.
He has said regarding the U.N. that it was an oversight. With 607, that it has to be right because of the events in 1914 and the unity since. And the generation he at least says that he "doesn't get it", but "will wait for clarification." He really wants to be able to answer in a way that will help me not doubt the slave, I can tell.
Thanks in advance for taking the time to post if you want, it will be much appreciated as I would like to free my family from the hampster wheel.

The longest prayer you had ever endured.
by african GB Member infrom personal experience i know it usually happens at the end of a district convention.
it would be either the do, co or an experienced elder.. they usually go through everything that was said throughout the dc and thank jehovah for this and that...... last year i used my stop watch to record the time taken by our do,.
by the time he said amen!

I can remember at one DC the guy giving the final prayer was flipping 3X5 note cards. I was sitting high up behind the stage because I was late of course. I nudged my wife so she could see him do it.

Hi Crisis, I'm also new. I also have those questions about Holy Spirit. I'm an elders son and was appointed an MS. I knew then that the spirit had nothing to do with my appointment because I was up to no good. It also had nothing to do with my disontinued use as an MS. I too lurked here for a while and learned more about the bible in a few months than in an entire lifetime as a JW.

The WTS only helps in disaster areas when they know they will get the proper amount of puplicity. There are probably several jobless needy ones in each and every KH in the U.S. and elsewhere, but instead of investing some of their billions in their own they throw it on the local JW's to care for the needy. Sickening!

For born ins- what tipped you off it was wrong
by teela(2) inat a young age i remember watching tv and commenting why is the red cross always helping people and we don't.
the second big one is if the witnesses only started up in 1890 - 1900 did jehovah not have anyone else doing the preaching work?.
as a child i don't think we think about theological problems so what tipped you off?

@Quillsky- It felt good too. The single brother and myself sat with this man for about an hour in the room at the hotel that he wanted to stay in (a little scary but that is what he wanted). We apologized for the way that our conductor had spoken to him. The big guy said he was happy that we didn't just give him cash and send him on the bus.
Then he asked me if all the people in our church acted like conductor. I had to honestly tell him yes, most. Then he asked me a question I'll never forget. "Why do you stay? You seem better than that." This conversation changed my life forever. I decided that I needed to make the truth my own. Not according to FDS, but according to any and all scripture and commentary I could get my hands on.
After making it clear to myself that I never had the truth I decided to hit the evil internet to really dig into the shady hypocracy of the FDS. What an eye opening experience!
The night of that study my wife and I discussed all the little things that bugged us, but she said she would wait on the "slave." After the Memorial a couple of days age I told her everything that I've learned. She hasn't been able to process it all yet, but to my relief she didn't brush it all aside she wants to know what I found.
I wish I could see the big guy again and thank him. I'm a 4th gen JW. I have a huge close knit family and extended family all in the "truth". I'm not sure how this is going to go, but it is something that I can't ignore anymore.
