i had to start this thread in light of today's watchtower study.

in paragraph 14,15 they mention the grounds for separation.

no scriptures are sighted but i am well aware of the support they usually use.. i am so sick of the watchtower making crap up!

For NFL fans

so i got into the nfl in the early/mid 90s.

back then there were some great running backs - happening onto a lions game late on sunday night over here and seeing barry sanders was what got me into it.

but it seems the running game is dead.

NFL running backs....particularly the franchise 'feature' back began to decline in the late 90's and throughout the 2000's. There are a couple of factors that have contributed:

Average lifespan of a runningback is 3 years. No longer were teams willing to draft and pay big $$'s for one player....especially one that would be gone in a few years. Many teams adopted the strategy of taking a couple of 'good' backs in later rounds...with the emphasis on one that could catch the ball (a 3rd down back type: Darren Sproles) or a goal line pile mover (Michael Turner, Jermoe Bettis, LaGarrette Blount) ........it saved money..... and you got the best of both worlds.
Decline in feature back talent: When is the last time you saw a really dominant back come out of college. Reggie Bush? He didn't translate well at the next level (see 3rd down back). Trent Richardson has a "Jamal Lewis" feel to him....he will be good....but great? Enh.
Spread Offenses: You can thank my 1999 St. Louis Rams for that trend. Martz instituted pieces of the Air Coryell offense into his.....teams were spreading out.....3-5 receiver sets.......teams needs WR's....not RBs. Marshall Faulk was almost another WR.....who could also run the ball. The Patriots, Colts, etc. have all gone to spread type offenses. The trend continues, leaving little need for a feature back.

I think those three factors have played a huge role. Gone are the days of Earl Campbell, Barry Sanders, Emmitt Smith. The latest trends is to get a BIG tight end that can out run linebackers.

Its sort of like telling an Olympic sprinter with a blown knee to get up and run a little more. Run some wind sprints. Run some stairs. That blown knee will feel better in no time.

I've NEVER seen an elder make a mistake that was 'minor'........when those idiots speak to publishers that believe they speak for God.....everything they do is a MAJOR life altering MESS!

Governing body member engaged... Again!

just found out that the australian governong body member known as geoffrey jackson got engaged to a sister about two weeks ago.

it really shocked me at first but then i remembered how other members of the gb have remarried in the past like daniel sidlik.

what made me say "woah" was hearing that the holy bride to be is really young!

Latest WT: "Refusing to appear before a JC is like refusing medical treatment"

in the latest october 15th 2012 watchtower (page 13).... "because of what they perceive as defects in the elders, some individuals who engage in serious wrongdoing in the congregation have refused to appear before a committee of elders assigned to help them.

this could be likened to a patient who loses out on the benefits of a treatment because he does not like something about the doctor.".

sounds like they're now trying to stigmatize those who try to avoid judical action.

LOL LOL….don’t doctors go to college, then medical school…spending almost TWO DECADES TRAINING TO BE A DOCTOR…….then have to pass a rigorous set of standard to be LICENSED as a practitioner?????? What does a JW elder have to do? Drive around in a mini-van for 10 hours a month? Does he even have to read the entire Bible cover to cover?? How is a window washer that looks at porn, gets drunk and lies about field service have ANY qualifications that compare to an educated doctor?????
