Here is my take on the hypocrisy that is rampant obesity among JW's:

not sure if this subject has been covered recently but i thought i'd make this observation anyway.... i remember when the word "gluttony" was a frequently mentioned sin in public talks, in the wt publications, in convention talks, etc.. in fact, in the 80's and 90's it wasn't unusual to hear the words "gluttony" and "disfellowship" mentioned in the same sentence.
i haven't been to a meeting in over 5 years, so i'm not sure if they still harp on the subject of gluttony or other excesses.
but i can't help but notice how much heavier the gb 2.0 has become compared to previous regimes.

.
i can't believe they had the cheek to come out with that explanation.. it's no more "new light" it's "new scam"!!
!.
Again, can they show anyone a scripture where Jesus said generations would overlap?
You honestly have to completely shut your brain off and drown in your own drool to believe this stuff..... I venture a guess that most JW's don't "believe" it.....but as we all know, are afraid to leave
in the 60's and 70's when i became a mindless cult follower there.
were gathering for the elite and they would get sh---t face, i mean down right.
drunk.
The most amazing thing to watch here in the Pacific NW was how the elders and their wives were notorious drinkers.
I was the youngest member of the BOE. I had to continually explain to other publishers, including my mother (baptized in 1972) to ignore all the drunk elder's wives. Notorious drunks at get togethers, baby showers, weddings, etc.
It became a running joke about what drunks they all were.
there can be no more profound form of ignorance than one which prohibits knowledge.
the watchtower organisation is one of the last remaining dinosaurs to do this.
instead of considering the biological and ecological complexity of life it gazes into its own oily navel and says with open-mouthed disneyfied wonderment, how marvellous nature is, how sacred jehovah is, how wonderful the governing body are!.
My take on the chosen path of ignorance the vast majority of JW's choose:

if you had to pinpoint the time or experience that finally made you open your eyes, what would it be?.
i think for me it was the time i saw my dad shun his brother who he had not seen in decades just because he was a da'ed jw.
i thought to my self "no way jesus would do that.
I was an elder for eleven years; a MS for another 5-6.... and these thoughts, couple with experiences, continued to haunt me:
1. If everyone that dies this side of the Big A get a resurrection, what's the point of field service. Wouldn't you be more loving to walk around shooting people so they had a better chance of living in paradise?
2. We can take blood fractions; but not volunteer our own (the whole blood doctrine was stupid to me)
3. I could conduct a Bible Study (saving a precious life), go commit fornication, be privately reproved, bring my Bible Study to the meetings..... my 'student' could comment at the meeting, I could not due to restrictions.... but I could keep teaching them the Bible. HUH???? ummmmmmmmmmmm......
from my own observations & conversations with selected active j.w.
's, here are my conclusions:.
's are very rapidly falling into two distinct camps -.
Interesting observation, but I really think there is a 3rd group and it's by far the largest:
Those that just keep going because their family/friends are.... and barely know how to spell the word Bible, much less study it or their literature.
Some people need that sense of belonging to something.
this is from the last talk of the convention ......... clip 1:30 minutes longhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mrej8tlyiso&feature=youtu.be.
Of course! They need more kids to cough up their ice cream money......like Sophia!!!
this picture is in the new publication from this year's convention, titled "return to jehovah".
part 1the lost one i will search for.
personally, the animal looks scared of the shepherd.
All I could think is that the 'shepherd' looks reasonably fit and good looking.....
Most elders I served with were pushing 300 lbs. and alcoholics....
Enh, just details... LOL
there is a quote in the new june episode of jw broadcasting, which says isaiah 11:6 applies to people inside the congregations now who have their personalities transformed.. in the 1980's and 1990's, when i attended meetings all the time, i always heard them say this scripture had a literal fulfillment and the animals will be at peace with one another.. here is the scripture:.
isaiah 11:6 (nwt): the wolf will reside for a while with the lamb, and with the young goat the leopard will lie down, and the calf and the lion and the fattened animal will all be together; and a little boy will lead them.. after hearing the quote, i did a search on jw.org, and i found this statement regarding that scripture:.
isaiah book 1, pages 163-165:.
my apologies of this topic has been covered already - please redirect me if it has:.
current belief is:.
watchtower (study edition), april 15th, 2010 issue, pages 27-29:.
I have a question
Since they had us out there telling everyone for a century that we were in the Last Days.....and we clearly weren't ..(it's 2015).....what has the Watchtower Bible & Tract Society done to correct that message to every single, solitary soul that heard that misinformation and made decisions based on this info from 'God's servant?'
Oh.....nothing?
Cult.
