Yes they were sweetie. At least most of them I remember in one cong the Elders wives used to say They Were Not Elderettes while they came over to your house to nose in your business and make things worse instead of help!! There were plenty of times they came and I thought AT LAST Help but instead it would cause another barrage of rumors at the KH!! I gave up on any of Their Majesties being of any help a long time ago.
The cong I was 1 st baptized in was mostly a mix of African American and Anglos. There were just 2 Latin families and they behaved what my family calls green. These people almost didnt baptize me (would have been a blessing) because I hugged and kissed people too much!! (They said)
The pioneer couple who I was studying with over heard some conversation between elders (who refused to interview me) said it was because I was Latin. This particular couple HATED racism. See they are elderly African American from the south!! The stories they can tell you pale in comparison to anything I went through for being a Latin growing up in Anglo Ville. ( I have some bad stories)
Anyway they told the CO who interviewed me himself and in front of the whole cong gave me a hug and said, Thats what Latin people do! They Hug!!
Those crazy elders got mad and said he could not tell them what to do and interviewed me AGAIN themselves. Still they let me be baptized lol they just needed to feel in POWER!! Those crazy Cheese and Cracker Men!!!
From that cong I moved to an all Anglo cong and while attending there for the 1 st 3 months I cried everyday!!! They were so cold and almost emotionless. Id hear a lot of your what nationality? Oh, I know your people. What wierdos!!

there was nothing about it - not a friggin' peep - on nwi all night up until midnight on the west coast (3 am eastern) on directv channel 366..

LOL......Im glad Im not the only mook!! ROLF!!!
I stayed up till 1:00 am Central watching and watching.....I did get to record a blurb about it but, that is all.
My kids and I said well at least they had that much.
Anyway at about 1:00am I gave up and watched it on line.
Im just going to buy it because there are so many who I wish to see this.
One good thing....I did learn A LOT about world events....over and over and over and yet over again! I think todays issues are firmly embedded in my mind!

Although I know probably MOST Italians are good citizens and have nothing to do with the Mafia.In my case other then JW Italians and on line friends from Italy .The only Italian Americans I know are through my father and my father is a Union Stewart for the Teamsters need I say more?!
I will say one thing..they throw the BEST Christmas Parties each year !!!
No matter what their connections..every Italian I ever met is hospitable, friendly and would do anything to help you!
We fit in good because we are Latin and my fathers last name although a Spanish one is also an Italian one. The Teamsters offered him a job.actually asked him to run for an office!
Hey since you're from New York.did you ever listen to The Italian Carousel? I listen to it all the time.
I think if a person wants to get a good idea of what Italian people are really like they need to watch movies from Italy not The Sopranos.
One of my favorite movies is Pane E Tulipani. They were showing it on pay per view last year.
The more foreign films Americans watch the more they will learn of other peoples cultures.

In a small way that statement is true. When my family moved to what I lovingly call Anglo Ville they were so afraid of my cousin because they thought he belonged to The Latin Kings !! No one would mess with us!! LOL So I guess in a sense it can be a protection!!

In all honesty it has been such a short time since we left that the children and I are not sure what we believe.
Mostly we believe in Jesus ransom sacrifice and anything HE said to do.
So the love your neighbor thing stands and loving God with everything you got too!
What we have done is started a family bible reading 2 times a week using 3 different translations.
For my middle child who up until this week was having troubles excepting JW wasnt true we use the NWT as one of our bibles. This has actually helped to show her The WTBS is false as when there is something fishy in the verse in hers we go on line and check it out on one of those sites with umpteen translations to see how 25 others have written these verses.
She brought me the require brochure today and showed me where it claimed the bible only spoke of 2 birthdays. This is a bold face lie as Jobs children would celebrate their birthdays each year and then Job would go make a sacrifice for them to atone for anything his children may have done to offend God during the past year. Many cultures have this kind of ritual that parents perform annually so as to make peace with their Gods in their childrens behalf.
We have decided to trust in Jehovah and Jesus and do the best we can knowing they will see we are sincere.
I think LOVE and TRUST are the greatest gifts people can have in their lives.
So no matter what The WTBS has done we are blessed.

have programmed my VCR to catch each program. If it turns our that the first one-hour time slot is not a repeat of "Fifth Estate," I'll stop the VCR, re-wind the tape, remove the program for that time slot and then wait for the next time slot, when the process will be repeated

She sooooo HATES The News that it is PURE TORCHURE for her!! Lol
But.I WILL SEE , RECORD, AND PASS OUT THE SHOW TO OTHERS!!!
I am a WOMAN WITH A MISSION and to get in my way is futile!!!

(ok calm down Cass) .... When I saw this I didn't belive my eyes at first even though my mother was the one who showed me heeh we bolth cried! (tears of joy ^_^) yesterday I had my 1st B-Day Party in Over 12 Years (last b day party I had I was 5). I only had a small one the only 2 guests that didn't live at the house was my dad and my uncle....it was funny It went the oppset of what I thought would happen.. I felt great ..and everyone else ..felt odd ..I could feel it.. my uncle asked me soo ..what is the new religoes pholosiphy ... at first I didn't know what to say...then it just came out.. I responded "to not let them dictate our lives anymore" (meaning the watchtower socity..he knew what I ment). that was the only difficult thing really...my little brother enjoyed him self allot also It suprized me a bit because he was always saying birthdays are bad...heh he was elated that I was going to have one ^_^ he woke me up singing happy birthday! THX SOOOO MUCH AGIN!!!! THANKYOU GIZZZZ for being soo thought full and here is a big Hug for all of you!!!!!~Cassandra~
