I didn't date brothers either. Well there was this one guy I met at an assembly, but before our date, the elders in his congo had checked me out and warned him not to date me.
whatever....I'd probably rocked his world anyway.

i remember the years that i was a witness and dating was so stressful!
i really never dated, because i truly believed that dating was reserved for marriage purposes only.
i used to think i could never attain or hope to attain to the level of perfection that certain "brothers" wanted.

i seem to recall that soon after you first started posting here you introduced a friend who also started posting - i can't find the original thread (hope i am not confusing you with someone else) what happened with her?
and also your friend who was going to have the abortion?
what did she do in the end?.
this thead made me smile.
When I ask nosey questions, my husbands says, "Don't you have any business, of your own?"

we share a common past but have travelled many different roads to find each other here.
our outlooks and perceptions of reality are varied and often fascinating.
most of us are encouraging, funny, helpful and kind while others are still wrapped in bitterness and hatred or suffering from despair and privation.
JWD members are survivors.
yeah..

the background is that we have been df'd for apostasy and are mostly being shunned.
the grandparents are all still speaking to us, some other relatives (on my side) are shunning us.. so only recently one of these grandparents gets a visit from two elders who inform them their relationship with us is a cause for talk amongst the congregation and it is viewed that they are in danger of becoming a sharer in our wicked works.
perleeese.
book marking and saving for future use.
Thank you and good luck.

good news. now get out and do what you know you need to be doing.
My cholestrol was almost 300 in December, the doctor said I had 90 days to bring it down or he was putting me on medication.
When I went back last week it has dropped by 60points. He said usually when patients are given a chance to lower their cholestrol, he might see a 10-20 point drop. He said I either was really bad before...or I was doing exceptionally well now.
Either way...go me go me.
lisa<---doin' the diet and excerise thing.
much has been commented here on how jw's rely on an ever-changing membership for keeping their 'the sky is falling, the world is ending' doctrine fresh.. recently it was posted that fully 2/3 of born-in jw's leave at some point, and i thought you might like to see how this works in practice.. so lets take sam and i and our extended families - we were both born and brought up jw's.
start with me.
mum and dad were converted in the 1950's.
My grandmother on my moms side had three children. Only one child remains a JW, my mom.
My mom had 4 children, only one remains a JW, my sister.
My one sister that remains a JW, had 4 children. One is no longer a JW...and by the MYSPACE's of her other three children, I'm guessing they will be gone within the next 10 yrs.
The nonsense will stop at this generation.
My kids know better than to join a cult.
