I hadn't seen that video before. How can someone be that drunk and not be sick? He looks like he's having seizures.
I thought this was kinda funny.

hey everyone,.
i've decided for the first time in my life to celebrate christmas this year, just like everyone else around here.
trouble is i have no idea how to begin!
Cicatrix: the best part of your story, is that even though everyone knows it's "tradition", you are open to something new.
My grandchildren each make me an ornament and wrap it themselves. They put their name and the year somewhere on the ornament. Some are too fragile to hang every year, but they are in a special box that we go though each year. I knew the time would come when I'd have to share them with another family, it's ok...they always come back.
I got to be there when each of my grandchildren were born. I don't think there is anything as special as that! Congrats on your new one!

On the Today show, Falcon, gets sick. Pukes, right on TV. gross.
Poor kid, he probably got sick from being forced to lie. Maybe the parents need to be investigated for child abuse.

i feel like its so much work, stressful, commercialized and since i never formed the habit of it i hate the idea of celebrating them.
i wouldn't mind buying presents for my daughter on christmas and maybe doing a treasure hunt for halloween (i don't want her taking candy from even my neighbors) and things like that so she doesn't feel left out or like she's missing something.
just something easy and informal...
I put up the Christmas tree for my bird, Rocco. He seems really fascinated by it, especially when I turn the lights on. He's the only reason I bother with it.
That's why I do it...for the look on my children and grandchildrens faces...and the others I love. My cats love the tree too.
I hate doing things I feel like I'm doing only because I think someone expects me too.

Leolaia, Interesting video...the expert mentions both the Mom and Dad's mannerism but not the boys. Strange

oooOOOOooooo ...you get to start making up your own "traditions". I have grandchildren now...and I love hearing my children tell them, "we always do this or that because it's tradition." and I know it started with me.
My suggestion, is just do what feels right for you. Baby steps.
Enjoy!

When I saw the interview on CNN, I watched the two older boys faces when Falcon was asked, why didn't he come out from hiding, and he says...."....for the show." then looks at his dad. The other two boys have an expression like..."what the hell? he wasn't supposed to say that....was he?"
I wish Dr Cal Lightman from "Lie To Me" would give his opinion on the entire family.
On a side note....you won't be able to watch the whole video, but it gave me the feeling that, with everything else going on.......this family has issues.

Yea...why are they weird. That might make for different suggestions.

ex jw boy meets ex jw girl....good thing or bad thing?.
.
It depends on the people and where each of them are mentally. There used to be an x-jw guy come in the stripclub when I was working and try to 'encourge me' to go back. I let him buy me drinks, thanked him for his concern and moved on. (well he didn't pay for table dances and I was there to make money)
