Armagedden Suitcase

my mother let it slip the other day that all the families in their hall are putting together a small suitcase.

inside this suitcase are to be things that you will take with you if given a 5 minute warning that the great tribulation is starting and you need to leave your home.

my father seemed quite embarrassed that this slipped.

That was funny.
I remember having a bag packed for when I went into labor. Then when it was time to go to the hospital, the last thing on my mind was that stupid bag.

My husband bought me a cross a few years ago.

I said, "Why would you buy me a cross?" He said "I noticed you were looking into religions and thought maybe you had a chance."

My .."A chance at what?"

He said, "I'll take it back. I don't know...I just thought you'd like it...but I'll take it back."

Me.."a chance a what?"

I still have it. I love it.... because he bought it for me.

Ok...moving right along, so far we have:

1. alcohol

2. vicks vapour rub

3. handgun

4. literature

5. wine, and scotch

6. toothbrush

7. Enough Field Service Slips to last until we can get more printed in the Noo System

8. Mega-phones to let all non-Dubs know that they are 'goin' down' and goin' down fast

9. Empty bank bags so we can collect all the gold and silver that everyone's going to be throwing into the streets

10. A copy of The Purple Triangle so we've got something to watch while everyone around us drops dead for not reading the WT & Awake

11. gas generator (but I'm not carrying that, and since it's Jim_TX's idea, I say we him pack that to where ever we have to go.

12. Memorize each other's phone numbers and addresses so the Nazis couldn't find a written list. (so maybe at the practice for the new song book, maybe they could have some flash cards. to help with the memorization.

The preparing of a suitcase is in direct violation of this scripture <------so now what? do I pack a bag and not tell anyone? Do I not pack a bag at all?

hi, after a couple of years of 'lurking' i thought i'd join up.

i'm an ex-dub from vancouver island.

i've been out of the org for aprox' 10 yrs, after being in it for about 28 years.. i post on "jehovahs witness recovery forum" as 'nightgoat', so i thought i'd wander over here & see how you guys are doing.. recently under went some major shunning from parents & siblings & retaliated with a barrage of 'reverse-shunning' in an effort to teach them how to treat my wife & i.. hope i can be of some encouragement to any, on this board.. my daughter has been a member here for 3 yrs.

I meet with my non-jw aunt today

we meet for lunch and i told her i didn't want to be a jw anymore.

she already suspected that this was the reason i wanted to meet with her.

she was very supportive and even invited me to thanksgiving dinner.

Yea, that's it. If someone will mail or email the sheet music to me, I will either mail or email something back in return. You know, like bartering.
