  I've never seen anyone that I thought looked like me, but several times I've had people start talking to me llike they knew me. But when I give them one of those looks.. they realized I'm not the person they thought I was. I think other me is really nice and chatty. I'm not chatty.

  I remember when I wasn't allowed to have one. I was on reproof for something.

  I really didn't care. I couldn't very well be expected to study ahead if I wasn't allowed the materials to study.

  Newbie here, need some input

  i wanted to introduce myself, and need some advice.. i dissassociated myself back in 1995. haven't had much of anything to do with my family since then.

  they are all witnesses, and very dedicated to their beliefs.

  so after 15 years without a simple howdy from them, now they are coming around again and being very nice, but it reminds me of when people would have parts in the ministry school...it seems rehearsed and fake.

  Whatever it is, just be yourself. Treat them like you would any other person you barely know.

  Man..it's been more than 15 years since I've had a real conversation with anyone in my bio-family. I know nothing about them. It would be like meeting strangers.

  Oh well, hope they're cool...and you have a great time. Either way...be yourself. Be true to you.

  has anyone heard of curse on JW regarding fertility?

  while in jw i knew so many women who had trouble falling pregnant or had trouble keeping babies to term including my own family.

  out of us 6 girls only 2 could fall pregnant.. i've heard since leaving that the masons have a curse on them that effects fertility, since the founders of jw were masons has it passed on?.

  the bible does talk about curses and that they were generational.. is this an urban myth?

  first i must apologise for not posting an intro before and for the length of my intro, once you start it just keeps pouring out.

  i grew up in what the jw org likes to call a divided home.

  my mother had become a jw a few years before and was raising her 4 children of which i was the youngest in the truth.

  I did really try and it wasn't that I didn't believe I just couldn't meet the grade. I always felt there must be something wrong with me;.......

  I remember asking my mom.."do retarded people KNOW they are retarded?" She said.."I think they probably know they are different."

  Well.......I KNEW I was different.

  I loved when I learned what cognitive dissonance was.

  If you were a non-JW and read this and asked the JW the question,

  "where did the writers get their information?" "Who is the writer of this?" "how can you prove this is true?"

  how would the JW answer and of those questions?
