the watchtower has been known for over 130 years as a great scriptural cherry-picker.

they pick out disparate unrelated verses and combine them to support the wackiest of wacky doctrines.. on the other hand there are many scriptures they almost never address, whether because they contradict wt doctrine or because they simply don't have a clue what they mean or how to spin them to the wt advantage.. one of these is revelation 19:1 that mentions a "great crowd" "in heaven.

" the only time it is ever brought up it is dismissed.

gardner to die by firing squad on june 18a state judge on friday signed a warrant ordering that ronnie lee gardner be put to death on june 18, setting the stage for utah's first execution in more than a decade.. the condemned man chose firing squad over lethal injection as the way he will die.

department of corrections officials will choose the time of the execution, which will take place at the utah state prison in draper.. third district judge robin reese signed the warrant, saying, "the defendant has exhausted all his legal remedies.".

Is the Jehovahs Witnesses organization really a cult?

im sure the question has been brought up before on this board and i imagine that for many of us the answer is patent.

however, i recently saw a documentary on pbs regarding the mormons and it stated categorically that the church of jesus christ of latter day saints is not a cult.

given that it has its own set of strangeness and history of revision as has the wtbts, could it also (the jw) be considered a main stream, although minor religion?.
