I prayed to my Higher Power last year when I was having a major crisis. I don't believe in anything: I just do what works. Sometimes prayer seems to work.

Let's have the book study at your house.

i visited her a couple of years ago, and was surprised to find the tuesday night meeting was held there every week.
at the time i thought it was an 'honour' bestowed upon her for all her years as a regular pioneer: but later i started wondering why, in a suburb with so many big prestige houses and families, would she be chosen to host the book study?

every week he tells us how he by chance ran into a jw, mormon, evangilcial, etc.
and comes up with witty answers every time to counter every point they make and than have them running in fear.

by gutted ini really needed to find a place to write this as i don't believe i can talk with anyone else about my account, perhaps it is similar to a lot of yours.. last night for whatever reason i said i would go online and look up information on jws.
i have been raised as a jw all my life and baptized the last few years.
i looked at www.freeminds.org and www.sixscreensofthewatchtower.com and couldn't believe how easily the whole of my lifes teachings were refuted.. i can't stop my brain from running, bs just in regards to theology alone (1914, paradise earth, celebrations etc.

Dear Gutted: You may regret choosing the name 'Gutted'. In 3 or 4 months time you will probably be over the worst of your feelings, and will be enjoying your new-found freedom!
It is true we are mostly atheists here, but I don't think anyone would want to destroy your faith in God. I would believe in God if I could, but I've never been able to. Thanks to everyone who contributed their choices. I know it's not a very deep or spiritual thread, but I haven't been in a KH for 22 years; a fact I'm very proud of.
