  Is Stevie Nicks the Anti-Christ?

  im really worried.... i have 7574 songs stored on my computer, but matter what playlist i use, sooner or later it will start playing a stevie nicks or fleetwood mac song.

  spooky.... stevie nicks was of course forbidden during the great watchtower music purge of the mid eighties; naturally; with songs like sorcerer little lies and my little demon.. .

  now i think my computer is demonized.. .

  having visited various mental-health professionals over some years in a vain attempt to get what i laughingly call my thinking-process in order; and having read some books on the subject, ive come to the conclusion that it may end up being an unproductive waste of time and money.. .

  if, for example you went to a psychologist with the same expectations as you would with a doctors appointment, i.e.

  a prompt diagnosis, you might be disappointed; for three reasons:.

  Jehovah the lunatic god

  i was virtually a born-in dub, as my mother was baptized when i was four or five; i was the bible study of two separate long-suffering brothers in my home cong before i walked out, never getting baptized.. i absorbed all the teachings of the witnesses, and always believed that the bible was in some way the word of god.

  now i am re-reading living in sin, by john shelby spong.. although at the time he wrote the book he was a bishop of the episcopal church, he states that the bible, or at least the hebrew scriptures, was written by the israelites using their imaginary god to explain their victories and defeats; to provide an explanation of their history.. i had always taken it for granted the god had chosen the israelites to be his people: but maybe they chose god.. why would the creator of the universe choose an obscure tribe in the middle east, leading them back and forth across the desert and in and out of captivity, interfering with everything they did; while totally ignoring everybody else living on the earth at that time?.

  a modern analogy would be god coming to earth and choosing the brooklyn dodgers as his chosen team and ignoring every other team, and coaching them so the dodgers would always win.. what sort of petty, bored, lunatic bigoted god would do that?.

  for ex-witnesses coming to this forum one of the strangest revelations must be that there are no answers, unlike the usual watchtower study.. the end of the certainty they had enjoyed as an faithful dub must be unsettling.

  it is inevitable, as we come from all corners of the earth, and we.

  have each come to our own conclusion as to what truth is.

  i was reading an autobiography of a young man who inherited a publishing empire, and his only purpose in life was to preserve the wealth that he controlled.

  the wts seems to have the same ambition- keeping itself relevant and viable by any means available.

  they try to use any current event or political situation as a fulfillment of bible prophecy, and when that fails they just say 'wait on jehovah'.

  Armageddon out of here...

  i guess nearly all of us believed in armageddon, and we believed that it would occur in our lifetime.

  we didn't have to worry about planning a career, or saving for our retirement- the new system would be here by then.

  somehow we had been chosen to be the generation that would live forever.

  What is your concept of God?

  given that the god of the old testament & the new testament don't seem to match up, and our first impression of god may be based on our parents, and the many progressive christian religions that stress god's love and grace, we probably all have completely different ideas of who god is; if he/she does exist.

  i always thought god was a strict, bad-tempered kill-joy..

  i have been trying to contact satan: i wanted to ask him about a couple of posters we have here, and i thought that since the internet is so evil, he must be logged on somewhere.

  i have tried '[email protected]' and '[email protected] ' but i can't get through.

  maybe the phone lines to hell are running hot?.

  Let's have the book study at your house.

  my sister moved to a affluent suburb in a capital city less than five years ago; and rented a small detatched unit and got a full-time job.

  i visited her a couple of years ago, and was surprised to find the tuesday night meeting was held there every week.

  at the time i thought it was an 'honour' bestowed upon her for all her years as a regular pioneer: but later i started wondering why, in a suburb with so many big prestige houses and families, would she be chosen to host the book study?
