Should have seen it coming. Don't want to rehash my personal situation, anyone who's read my former posts will know it. Anyone who cares can look them up and get the gist of the situation. But it now looks as if because I live below my sister, who owns the cabin, that since I refuse to become a witless she is has decided to sell the place, put our 82 yr old mother in a Nursing Home, she has Alzheimers, and move in with another Witless lady so she can devote herself to full time door to door work. Fine, I'm 59 yrs old, little resources, will probably be forced to head to the National Forest here, actually thats all there is here, with my 75 lb. dog and live in a tent, get food stamps, and drive into "town" every week and look for work. I don't actually think she will sell the cabin because of the market here in tourist country. North Georgia, but one never knows. I am demanding half the money if she sells it. We'll see. There is more to this story than I care to get into at the moment. I have to leave for a couple of hours but will check here upon return. Just wanted to post this, feel like sharing the "Good News of Jahova"!

Just a quick Thank You for everyones responses. I'm cooled down now. Been taking care of mother for 6 days straight with no help and I think it wore me out mentally. Now it's sisters turn. If she can pull herself away from the books and videos she brought back from Zombieland. Hey Outlaw, I love your posts. Always a nice smile giver!

My sister went to the St. Louis Mo. convention because she has an old nonwitness friend there she can stay with. We are in Georgia. Friend went with her because convention was only 17 miles from her house. Well, she got back today and just raved about how the new lite on the generation doctrine was Oh So Clear and understandable, and just wonderful to hear. She had never fully understood it before, she says, but now it's easy to grasp. She went on to explain it, until I broke into her rambling explaination and said that ( don't that actually mean they just added about 50 years onto their timetable for Armageddon?) No, she says. It actually makes it closer than ever because you see because if this second generation is going to see the start of the tribulation it COULD START AT ANY TIME! Now her friend says she's going to start attending the local kingdom hall along with her grown son and his live in girlfriend. Is there no way to stop this madness???? Never in my 59 years have I seen an organization so able to warp peoples minds away from any degree of common sense. It's as if they can say ANYTHING and people will believe it, and it just goes on and on and on. I can just head on over to my house and not listen to her nonesense anymore. I can only wonder at the degree of patience it takes to be married to someone locked into this Cult. Where you have to listen to this stuff every day in your own home from loved ones on a daily basis. I would go mad! And all the books, DVD's, magazines, ect. they just keep churning this drivel out. My sister spends almost all day reading J.W. books, and studying for the next meeting, or going out door to door spreading this cancer. When she goes to meetings or out in service, I take care of our 81yr old mother with alzheimers for her, as well as doing it 3 days a week. I'm not complaining about that. I should do it. Thing is it was our mother who originally got involved with this crap. Spent around 35 years going door to door. When she found out that she was develping Alzheimers she told me Quote: 'Son, I spent years with the Witnesses and what did it get me, NOTHING! Now I'm going to lose my mind and no Armageddon, no perfect world, just sickness and death to look forward to.' Know what people, this old boy is pissed off. I mean really pissed off. I would love to .............Can't say it. Don't actually intend to do anything, just vent my anger here on these pages. Jeez, if I could still drink without getting sick I'd pour myself a Jack Danials, or 10. As is I can only hope that enough people get fed up with the Witlesses that they get that nice cozy tax exemption taken away. Now that would be nice indeed! Enough, gonna count to ten and eat some Pizza!

Big volcanic eruptions in Guatemala, Ecuador.
by outlander inthink this activity will be used at the next convention to increase the sense of urgency in the sheeple?
has been an interesting year though when it comes to natural and man made disasters.
i wonder if there are some changes happening earthwide to the planet or if it just seems to be more out of whack than normal?.

Just a short observation on my Bible study.
by outlander ini thought it would be fun to say yes to a weekly bible study just to see how far i could go in undermining the j.w.
beliefs, also to be honest i thought it would make a family member happy.
so i slowly and methodically refuted and questioned all the nutty things that my study teacher, or whatever he's called, tried to throw at me over a period of about 4 months.

GromitSK, To answer your question. Part of my reason for the study was to keep peace in the family, but during the months of the study I also educated myself about the correctness of the teachings. I had done this once before in my life when I was 17 yrs old and my mother became a J.W. and wanted everyone else in the family to join also. My two sisters joined, one is still in, so is her husband, my other sister faded, then rejoined about 8 months ago, my father never joined. Anyway, I'm now 60 and had forgotten a lot of things regarding the J.W.'s in the time between. Things have changed also. From what I 've read here the Organization has become a lot more controlling, plus there have been some doctrine changes over the last 43 yrs. It was a learning experience all over again. After a while I just couldn't keep up the facade of the study and it became a battle of wills. I wanted to see if I could get through this persons brain washing by providing simple facts. I couldn't, so i ended the study. As for why study just the bible with the same person. Why not? It doesn't hurt to keep a bit of spirtuality in your life, as long as common sense is included in regards to what your reading.
Wasanelder Once, To answer your remark. Most of the people on this site appear to be an intelligent and thoughtful bunch. Thats one of the things I like about this Forum. I guess you must be here to provide comic relief. Sort of like Huntz Hall in the old Bowery Boys movies. Rock On Guy!

How many different books have been published by the watchtower society?
by outlander ini know there has been a lot, but does anyone actually have any idea?
to make it easier, lets omit books published before say 1960. that gives 50 years worth of books.
i wonder how many books it takes to teach the word of god door to door, and how many just find new ways to say the same things?

Why Was Man Created with a Thirst for Knowledge then Condemned to Die for Seeking It?

one of terrys recent threads reminded me of something i thought about during my awakening from the jw untruth.
it is something that now to me seems very illogical in the adam and eve story.

Addition to my last post. After actually reading all of that webpage I must admit that there is a LOT there that I find hard to believe. Yet, I've heard some of the same before without the nonesense thrown in.

That might work in a larger city but i live in a small Mtn. town in North Georgia. The tourists outnumber the regulars in the summer and the congregation is under 50 to 60 on a good day. Perhaps not that many.
