My messagew to my mother post "branch talk".
by problemaddict 2 inmy wife went out of curiosity.
she is out enough to where it doesn't affect our marriage, but she keeps it a secret from her family and others.
she is beginning to understand what it means to give over your thinking to an organization, and once she works that out there will be no going back.. so she went to the branch visit.

Thanks for sharing.
Everything to defend the cult. Funny (in a sad way) how a JW can be disappointed or discouraged by something like this ... until somebody like a child, or spouse, points it out then all of a sudden they defend the cult.
I have noticed this with my wife too.
The Org emotionally abuses their followers and the rank&file just say hit me again.

Great review Oubliette!
So far my wife hasn't said a word about the "special" event.
Shortly before she got home I posted the following video to my Facebook page. I wonder if I will be unfriended by any more JW "friends".

Tony the Third gives plenty of ammunition to test the faith of older ones, he is a moron.

Special meeting, special meeting ... that's what has been coming from my wife's mouth the past couple of days, everything today is planned for and around this "special meeting" ... I want to ask, "what's so special about it" ... but I keep my mouth shut.

JW's pride themselves on being cautious as serpents yet as innocent as doves and are thrilled at how they can fool Satan's world. Technically Losch speaks truthfully from a legal, corporate standpoint. And that is what the game is in a court of law.

After reading the quoted letter in it's entirety, it doesn't seem as scandalous. Just my opinion.

Got ratted out for celebrating Halloween...
by cognac inone of two things will happen.
i'll get disfellowshipped and never have to worry about being "told on" again for living a normal life, or; they won't do anything.. either way, it's freeing and i feel relieved... it will be sad if i get disfellowshipped but i've come to terms and made peace with it as much as can be expected.
it's a huge weight to have off.. was told on a week ago and haven't heard anything.

I think the Shepherd book says to let it go, although you would not be exemplary, if it's not a religious holiday ... I suppose Halloween is debatable on that one. If you don't want to be disfellowshipped then you have to answer untruthfully, let them know it was a moment of weakness just for fun and acknowledge it was wrong ... Or, it opens the door for you to let it all out and get df'd.
