Jehovah Witness promotion of JW.org as the place to get answers to all of lifes important question is the height of arrogance
by Brokeback Watchtower inwe are hearing reports of this promotion of the website by the jw and it seems to be a resource for them to dodge questions of their faith, when they don't have or want to give an answer to a question they direct the house holder to the organization/corporation's website to get the answer as if it really existed.there.. i think soon they are going to drop the door to door work all together as completely unprofitable, i mean their donation arrangement is a complete flop and has cost them i'm sure so they are in the process of shipping as many as they can into building up real estate for the corporation, because that is where the money is right now.. the whole jw.org is just a complete failure as a source of good information and only scare away people except the most vulnerable/gullible.. .

I'm with WTWizard, I don't see door to door stopping. They point to it in the scriptures. I see them getting dumber about having Bible discussions, but door to door is the busy work and social aspect for so many JW's. Take away the door to door work and all of those pioneers and JW housewives will get busy in other activities. -

the first bit was used to set up the need.

The 3 metro areas with the most acute need are LA, Miami, and Dallas.
Are JW's really having this kind of growth in the U.S. to justify this push?
If they are, I assume this must be within particular demographics because I only see a decrease in rural areas.

So my dad comes from vacation and ???!!!
by Kool Jo inhello folks.....so in an earlier thread i started, you'd realize that my father and i are quite close, we talk about almost everything/anything.. he traveled outside the country (he's semi-retired), enjoying the fruitage of his hard labor during his younger years.
so he recently returned home after he and mum went away to catchup with some old friends in another country.. upon his returning home, and subsequently to the meetings, he was told that a decision was made to strip him of his "field overseer" role, but will still continue to be an elder.. the reason...he goes away for too long too often...you can't be away from your congregation for three months out of the year!!!???
has anyone else had this experience before?

It's normal. At one time he may have been removed as an elder. Upon retirement an elder in my former congregation divided his time between two congregations. He remained an elder in both congregations but could not hold any particular position and if I remember correctly was not used on judicial committees either. -

The entire point of their door to door work is to convert people.
And they are so successful with that aren't they? What does that have to do with forcing NON-JW's from celebrating holidays? What school has been picketed by JW's insisting that the entire school stop the flag salute or stop celebrating holidays?

Jonathan, I have read your comments at that site and in my opinion, you are trying to twist what is said and trying to provoke.
But that's my opinion.
JW's aren't trying to prevent the public from celebrating holidays. You know that they share their beliefs in the PUBLIC ministry but they don't get engaged in preventing non-JWs from having holidays.
We do not look to stop people from practicing their holiday's whether public or private, we just want people to respect our conscience in abstaining.
