Would 2 young Witnesses stuck in an elevator with no Chaperon really commit fornication? Realistic??

yes witness theology claims that 2 people {regardless of sex} left alone in a room will start bonking.....does this happen all the time in real life???

maybe in a penthouse magazine!

i have never heard of two people say, stuck in an elevator or broken down bus getting so hot and bothered that they start bonking....it's completly nuts.

Perhaps a controlled study of the scenario would answer the question. It might involve video cameras.

Would this question be comparable to whether or not a tree falling in the woods with no one around would make a noise?

a "spiritual leader" tells his followers the must put on rebok running shoes and "drink the cool-aid" to join a ufo in the tail of a comet and "go to a better world" so, afew dozen young people do just that to get "beamed up" to the mothership.

heavens gate cult 1990's.. my mother says "she is faithful to the organisation till her death" which makes me wonder if they ordered a mass suicide like the reverend jim jones did to escape a "great tribulation"....how many witnesses would really drink the cool-aid?...

without a gun pointed at their head of course!.

Like it or not, I think it is understandable that most JW's accept the blood prohibition as abstaining from blood is scriptural. Whether or not a transfusion should be included in that abstinence is a completely different matter.

Mass suicide ... I just don't see that as having even vague Bible backing.

it is so strange how you look at things so differently when your eyes are open.

i recently went to a witness wedding and listening to the talk with the constant emphasis on the bride having a 'head' and being submissive to her head was painful to listen to.

and how the bride has to say 'deeply respect' while the groom does not, is the epitome of misogyny.

dgp: ... no, they specifically liked the talk and how nicely it was done by the brother, he is my closest friend, the only non-family witness I fear losing, he is probably more liberal in his thinking but able to be realigned now and then by the pharisees.

I think it depends on the speaker. The Bible does in fact have an arrangement for headship. Depending on how it is presented makes a difference. My "worldly" Catholic family came to my daughter's wedding at the KH and thought it was one of the nicest weddings they had ever been to.

I have wondered this myself at different times.

I can't imagine that scenario happening, but with enough scriptual manipulation to show why it had to be done, then you might get a good number to follow.

My worry was more, what if, one day because of new light, the organization convinces the sheep that they would be used directly in attacks against the elements of this system and they try to jumpstart the great tribulation.

When young children are in school it is unacceptable for them to pledge the oath of allegiance to the United States.

Isn't the technicality with the oath and children in school that it is an oath, not to the United States, but "I pledge allegiance to the flag", an idol, therefore idolatry?
