sweet pea: loyalty to Jehovah, have nothing to do with them ... I noticed more experiences pepperd throughout the three days than usual (again, possibly just because of my current situation) about parents, spouses, children, friends, leaving Jehovah and how difficult it is for the ones remaining in the "truth" but how blessed they are by being loyal to Jehovah and remaining close to Him.

Day 2 of the Convention is over ... what's missing?
by wannabefree inday number 2 is done.. there was an audio drama, sure, it adds some excitement, hey, its different.. final talk "stay close to jehovah, as jeremiah did" ended with the release of the book ... god's word for us through jeremiah ... not a verse by verse consideration of prophecy, rather, what we can learn from jeremiah's life as a prophet, considers information from jeremiah and lamentations.
(of course informed readers of this site knew of this release already.).
noticibly missing ... jesus christ ... to me it was painfully obvious.. one talk i think was numbing our mind to accept the generation bomb tomorrow.. i couldn't help but realize that throughout the convention so far, the vast majority of scriptural references are from old testament (yes, it was hard not to say hebrew scriptures, so i just did).. i didn't realize it so much in the past, but it seems like jehovah's witnesses are trying to accomplish what the nation of israel couldn't, follow laws.

The drama was a ficticious account of the lives of some who fled Jerusalem after the Roman seige in 66. I thought it was nicely done, but of course at the place my mind is at the moment, I could see the undertone of being patient and waiting and not justifying going back to the world (as illustrated by Jerusalem) just because the destruction wasn't as sudden as some thought it would be (and of course the talk to follow dealt with the new generation "clarification".
It demonstrated some fleeing with only the clothes on their backs and others loaded down with as many household items they could fit on a wagon.
As time goes by, those who were reluctant to leave in the first place start dwelling more and more on what they are missing out on in Jerusalem, justifying to themselves and trying to get other to go along with their reasoning that either Jehovah changed his mind (like he did with Ninevah) or that the end is still a long way off ... eventully some head back and the implication is they lose their lives.

Are all bibles twisted? Look how this 'interlinear' exposes a very different message, and interesting thing about the Devil.........
by EndofMysteries inif you have interlinear or look one up online, go to jude vs 5-7. now almost all bibles, including nwt go something like this....
"i desire to remind you, depsite your knowing all things once for all time, that jehovah, * although he saved a people out of the land of egypt, afterwards destroyed those not showing faith.
and the angles that did not keep their original position but forsook their own proper dwelling place he has reserved with eternal bonds under dense darkness for the judgement of the great day.

Girls - what subject got you thinking?
by wannabefree inreading the post "how long did it take you to leave", i can't help but be envious of those of you who refer to leaving as a "we" event.. i know it has been said that women tend to react to feelings/emotions along with logic, can you help me with ideas that got you to feel something was wrong?
what should i work on planting with my wife?.
thanks..

palmtree: if you happen to check back here ... we had difficulties with a daughter and I struggled greatly with what the elders suggested and my conscience, I didn't kick her out, had I followed the different suggestions of tough love over the years, my wife would have experienced the reality of it, but I couldn't be that way ... some elders also told me to go to the meetings without her, then she would get the message about being ready earlier, I can't do that, although I did eventually tell her and it made her feel bad, I don't want her to feel bad but at the same time I did becasue I want her to wake up about the lack of genuine love

Thank you for your comments, I appreciate the insight. I have discussed different topics with my wife but she just seems to go on as though nothing was said on the subject. She seems like a stepford wife (towards the religion anyway).

I'm afraid you folks who are starting new ex-FB groups...
by AwSnap inare forcing the jw's to quit using facebook.
i absolutely understand why you are doing it....but personally, groups that blatently criticize the jw's have caused the ones closest to me to quit using fb.
that was one of my last outlets to associate with them, and then they quit fb altogether.

I think the "get off facebook" must be a regional thing, other than a mention of facebook (lumped in with other things) as a time waster at my district convention, there was no counsel about getting off of it.

Active ... finally came to realize earlier this year that it is not the Truth(r), in emotional turmoil to a degree because I'm not good at living a lie, I know I have to get out by DA because I would want a clean break without wondering when an elder would pop up. Trying to plant seeds while I can in my wife and children's minds. I figure I have to risk losing them because it would really be their choice and tough love would hopefully be the right thing to do. (If you have thoughts about this, please PM me, I can use input.)
