CULT! What is so historic about this convention? I know Obama isn't popular among many, but he accomplished more in 5-6 years than Jesus did with his Watchtower in 100 years!

New to The Jehovahs Witness Faith and need some help

i am very excited and hungry for the truth and have not missed a meeting or study since the memorial.
we do about 2 bible studies a week.

Troll ... maybe, some things don't seem quite right ... but as far as the YMCA thing, I think they may treat this as a don't ask don't tell, the Organization hasn't touched it in a while. I know that in my area, the YMCA took over management of a local facility a few years ago, some were willing to go until an old timer corporate elder put his stamp of disapproval on it. The JW's used to go there every Saturday and stopped once the YMCA took it over.

jnj.... you are a new study, the love is poured on, it is called love bombing .... the JW's are good people, most of us here are or were JW's, many have been elders, many have been Witnesses for decades ... we can offer you the side of the story that they won't give you at the Kingdom Hall.

Welcome jnj ... the scriptures may provide you with comfort that you can support your BROTHER, but the fact is, the JW religion will not alow you to support him as a military person, that is why you were told you will know what to do when the time is right, because if the person studying with you told you how the JW religion expects you to be about the matter, they figure you will be stumbled from studying, they realize that once you progress in studying and become fully indoctrinated, you will fall in line automatically with what they tell you is correct.

Basically ... at least when I was an elder ... as I recall anything that was to be written in was conveyed verbally by CO during visit or at the periodic elder schools. When I was appointed an elder and given a fresh new manual I was told to get another elder's copy to get his notes and write them in mine.

I suppose this is just part of tying up the loose ends.
The Organization has gradually become title holder of all property.
No more local autonomy on Kingdom Hall decisions other than minor repairs.
Corporate is the land owner, local congregations are renters, renters have no say in what happens to the rented facility ... but they will respectfully take into consideration their suggestions when making decisions.
No more lawsuits about selling, consolidating, moving etc. No property rights to the congregation.

QFR August 15, 2014 - Resurrection and Marriage
by wisdomfrombelow inthe article addressed luke 20:34-36 and now they finally admit jesus could have been referring to the heavenly resurrection.
they said "put simply, the answer is that we cannot say" which is surprising because they have something to say about everything.
perhaps all the old people who are waiting the new world as widow and widowers want to know if they have a chance to be reunited with their dead loved one.

I remember expressing this thought years ago in conversation with other JW's while I was a full fledged believer. Running ahead of God's Organization. How many JW's will nod and appreciate this better understanding because it was breathed by the GB. Grrrrr

by Hairtrigger intried to get into jw.net twice but a popup informed me that the official website of jw's is jw.org.
this was about 2 hours back.
anybody with a similar experience?.

JW's will always spin things to fit there message. So ocean front property lines are redrawn and growing seasons on the back of seed packages need to be adjusted. The earth and life on it will survive.
