. . Seriously though, I watch CBSN because it streams free on my Google Nest Hub, I also check news on the internet at CNN and Fox, just the news, I'm not a fan of the obvious tilted opinion entertainers on either source.

Fox News, RT America, The Federalist, Breitbart, National Review
If three out of five of these carry similar stories, you know it's true.

The links are safe. Not hosted by Watchtower. Atlantis posts are trustworthy.
If you click on a link that goes back to Watchtower website (I posted one recently), Watchtower would be able to discern that access to their site originated from this site and they would know the IP address of the internet provider that your device came in on, which in turn might or might not give them a general geographic location of the device that was used to access their website.
If that worries you, you can use a VPN to hide your footprint.
I personally don't worry about Watchtower seeing my IP, although when I was first leaving the cult, I was a little paranoid about such things.

Special Talks now via video
by AverageJoe1 intired of listening to your local elders giving the "special" talk ever year after the memorial?
well don't worry, as of next year we will be spicing things up for your enjoyment.. not only will we be having the talk before the memorial (i know, wild huh), but we will be treating you to the talk via video starring our famous speakers from bethel so you can see how a talk should be given (after all bethel does boast the best speakers in any country, right?!).
here's a copy of the text from our latest letter as i'm sure that with so much excitement you won't believe it at first!.

It is kind of difficult to comprehend how the organization can reconcile selling a former place of true worship to a part of Babylon the Great.
Oh, that's right, Watchtower is a real estate conglomerate.

Legal Concerns About "Zoom" Meetings!
by Atlantis inthis whole "zoom" thing has got me wondering whether some of it is legal or not.
if a person has to dress up for a zoom meeting the way the watchtower dictates, doesn't this really go "beyond" cult?.
even the cults who committed mass suicide were able to dress the way they wanted for their meetings.

You can connect without allowing access to camera.
I don't know if the org has nefarious reasons, but it doesn't seem unusual to have video conferencing applied this way. I'm not a fan of the cult, but I'm sure JWs like to associate and see one another. My wife has been logging on so far via phone so that she doesn't have to dress up.
I know it helps the religion to maintain control, I'm not sure they cognitively think of it that way, I think they view it as a way to associate, I think they truly believe all the way to the top that they are God's chosen people, so while actions are cultish, I doubt they see it that way.
From the outside looking in, we know it's a cult, or at least a very controlling group.

I'm having a craving for dry crackers and wine
by rebel8 ini'm also in the mood for dressing up in a modest, uncomfortable skirt, half slip and pantyhose underneath.
no knees showing, of course!
i want some shoes to go with it that pinch and cause bunions.. i thought i'd pair it with a button down shirt, buttoned down to the level that covers all cleavage, then 1 more button closed so the bros aren't tempted into having accidental sex interviews with me right on the spot.

Is this still a thing?
Can't we be off topic and nonsensical at all?
Whatever happened to the drunken gibberish thread?
Levity can be good therapy.

Warning!
by FedUpJW inno...not a warning from me, rather that is the subject of the "local needs" that i heard was presented via zoom tonight.. beware of apps!
they harped on the idea that only apps approved by the governing body should ever be downloaded or used by jdubs.
they said if they had not been featured in the litterature or specifically recommended by the governing body then jdubs should heed the warning and avoid them.. i guess they are, as we all suspected, very afraid of what the dubs will find out now that they have to use only electronic devices for their "food"..

Cult and Control aside, the video about apps is a warning about how to know if an app that appears to be a JW resource is legitimate.
I suppose the type of JW that only listens to Kingdom Melodies and only watches JW videos might also stretch to think that JW apps are the only apps to download, but I certainly don't get that impression from the video.
