i'm afraid of starting a new post because i've stepped on a few feet here with my last post... but i still love you guys.. last night i went home to find my wife and her friend on the couch with the bible, ready to show me how i'm wrong and exercising "apostate thinking".
my wife said, "i am unable to fight you with the bible because you know more than me about it.
but k** knows more and will be able to show you how you are wrong.. so my wife went into the other room so as not to be stumbled by my discussion.
Yeah, I'm brushing up on the mind control thing (thanks leavingwt).
This thing was totally unexpected though, you know? I was railroaded as soon as I got home from work. I just wanted to drink beer and watch something funny and mindless. Instead I spent 3 hours defending myself against a cult!

i want to preface this by saying that i don't judge any of you and i believe in the right of freedom of speech and freedom of religion, including your freedom to not practice one.. however, i'm finding a trend among some ex jws here.

I'm not sure if the Hebrews had a word for sphere at that time. But I'm not sure about that. A circle is implied when describing a sphere. Generally if you were asked what shape an apple is, you could say it was circular and not have anyone have an issue. If you want to get technical then you can say it's a sphere. But it seems to be a lame argument to me.

Also Debator, you are not answering what I said about enforcing speculation or false bible chronology. Please explain how this is biblical?

The prophecy that you read takes place AFTER the Tribulation starts, Debator. Obviously your chronology is still off too.

They didn't just "draw them out of the air"? Let's talk about where 607 comes from? They drew that out of the air, and you would be hard pressed to find anyone that agrees with them (Christian or secular). 1914, 1919, 1925? These were not drawn from the air.
Debator...maybe I'm wrong. Would you please explain where 1925 comes from in the Bible? How do we calculate it? How was this a mistake in Bible chronology calculations?
