  Special Dish Duty!

  BLLLLLAAAAHHHHH!!!! I forgot about that one too. I've blocked alot of the bethel experience out of my mind. It was a very strange 2 years of my life. ALthough, I did like the family nights.

  Funny story. One of my buddies at bethel was in a band and performed at family night in Patterson. They did a cover of "Dream" by the Everly Brothers. The family night committee made them take out the words "Gee Wiz". So the song went

  "The only trouble is

  I'm dreamin my life away"

  Honorary Bethelites for life?

  i know i shoulda posted this in 'scandals and cover ups' but i thought i would get a better response here.. i dont know how true this is but i heard that there is a group of very well off former bethelites who donates a lot of money.

  to the watchtower, and in turn, are deemed 'honorary bethelites' for life.

  privately of course.. is this true?

  I've never heard of this. But the annual meeting is for "board" members who vote on organizational matters. Of course others are invited to the talks after the voting. But I've never heard them called honorary bethelites, and I don't think they get appointed to the board due to donations.

  just thought i'd share what came out of the mouth of a local elder a few months ago.. it all started when they ignored our "no tresspassing" sign, and drove up our rural driveway as part of their cult recruiting ritual, or the "bothering work" as my dad calls it.

  i told him that the witlesses fly the flag of "we only believe in the bible", but that simply put, the watchtower blatantly ignores all sorts of scripture.

  he looked at me funny, and i used the example of the great crowd.

  I'm sorry brodan I find the signing bibles thing hard to believe.

  I would've too if I hadn't seen it myself. But it's a true story. I watched him sign several bibles.
