Don't worry about hijacking, PSac. I think the answer has been given that a Fundy is one that believes the Bible is inerrant. So feel free to respond! :-)

After a Lifetime Wasted on Atheism - He Finally Gets It

i wonder if he offered an apology to all the people he helped deceive over the past 50 years?.

Perry, with a site FULL of atheists, this thread was destined to be ganged up on.
A couple things though.
"Atheism can't lie"
Yes...but Atheists can. I've been judged OVER AND OVER again for judging. Hmmm....
All things cannot be true. By nature, truth can only be one or the other. So because of a Christians belief that those that adhere to atheism are destined to be judged by God, they have the right to speak up. Because of the Muslim belief that only Muslims will be saved, they have the right to speak up.
Where my concern is...atheists believe that there is NOTHING after this life. There IS no judgement. As far as they are concerned, it matters not if you are an atheist, Christian, or Muslim. The eventuality is all the same. So why do they feel the need to condemn all those that hold religious views?

Brother Dan - I know you have kids...how do you do it?
One day at a time. I don't use my wife as a scape goat. We have to show a united front, even though we believe different things. So I don't contradict her directly. I focus on helping them to think things through on their own. Of course they are young, so it's been easy so far. But I focus on trying to help them to see that we should love all people. I also focus on teaching them things from the Bible that we BOTH agree on. Of course, my focus is more on Jesus than my wife. But so far I don't think they see any difference between me and their mom.
When I was first going through this whole thing, there was some GREAT advice on this site. You have to take it slow. JWs don't come out quickly (usually). It's a long process. You have to take your time, show a TON of patience, and show a TON of love.

Others not of this fold, thoughts?
by TheJigsUp ini read this again just the other day in a post here i believe.
where jesus said he has 'others not of this fold'.
the context it was quoted in i found curious and it reminded me of thoughts i had regarding the words when i read them 'for myself'.

Actually....maybe it WAS the mormons. Or could it be bible students? They weren't of the original fold...
I could make a strong argument that punk rock was the true faith...

Are ALL religious ideas TRUE?
by brotherdan inthere was once a christian that was attending seminary that felt unusually bold one sunday morning.
he decided to go to a random church that he had never attended before.
he went to the service and sat in one of the pews.

The notion that you can both be wrong isn't promoted by many religionists, including our Dan
In this context....agreed. And I don't promote that. Can I PROVE 100% that creationism is true? NO! Can I prove 100% that there is NO god? NO!
I was talking about those that say that there IS no truth.
Truth MUST exist or else it is self defeating.
For example, if I say:
"NO truth exists" then a clever person can say, "Is that TRUE?"
If I say, "Absolute truth is relative", then can I say, "Are you absolutely sure?"
It is laughable to argue that there is no truth. You can argue that we cannot KNOW absolute truth. But you cannot argue against truth itself. Truth MUST logically exist.

Working on this email to send to my mom bout the hypocrite Governing Body
by foolsparadise infeel free to add anything so i can add it to my email before i send it.. .
hi mom,.
everyone here is fine.

Hence, for one of Jehovahs Witnesses to become a member of such a so called "Christian" association would amount to apostasy.
So by the society becoming members of the United Nations, they themselves are guilty of apostasy, according to their own definition.
Again....AMAZING! So well done. You put alot of thought into this email, and while your parents may not appreciate it, I think that all of us are so proud of you.

the word apostate does not even appear in the bible. The word hypocrite does. Jesus used it repeatedly when dealing with the pharisees but never once used the word apostate.
VERY proud of you! What a fine email! I am speechless. Amazing....

I hate to repeat what everyone else was saying here...but!
Yes, Jesus was speaking of the Gentiles. He was saying that eventually he would bring non-Jews in to become his Brothers. And alas, this is what happend when Peter had his vision and went to convert Cornelius begining at Acts 10.

Are ANY religious ideas true? Religion by its very nature isn't based on provable facts.
For the first sentence, AGREED! For the second...well everyone HAS to make their decisions based on provable facts. Everyone thinks their way is right, or else they wouldn't believe it.
I don't know your beliefs, but think about this. Think about if you are an evolutionist. Can you PROVE that information can somehow evolve from NO information?Information and matter are 2 different things. If you can demonstrate that a cell can come from some other form of matter? And if that plant CAN come from other matter, can you DEMONSTRATE how that plant has the information on how to grow, reproduce, nourish, etc...?
