Yeah, I am aware that a large amount of liberal Christians have adopted the evolution theory. Since I believe totally and completely in the Bible, I don't agree with them. I support the arguments for a young earth, and think they have a valid argument. I think alot has seeped into modern Christianity today that should not have. The emergent church really seems to be going off on a very unbiblical course.

i want to preface this by saying that i don't judge any of you and i believe in the right of freedom of speech and freedom of religion, including your freedom to not practice one.. however, i'm finding a trend among some ex jws here.

Billy, I tried to talk about 607 and 1914 last night and it was a bit difficult. I have not memorized the chronology of the Babylon king's reigns yet. Nor do I remember the exact tablets that are used to prove a later date for the destruction of Jerusalem.
I do feel comfortable about the blood issue and brought it up last night as well. I said that if a Witness can receive blood fractions, that is tantamount to receiving blood. She actually agreed and said it was wrong. So I said, the society, then, allows blood transfusions. They are just limiting the amount of blood "materials" that you can put in your body. Totally unscriptural. She changed the subject.

Have you read the 72 WT called "There will be a prophet among you"? They directly say that they were appointed to be Gods prophet and PROPHECY OF THINGS TO COME!!!!
They admited this themselves. So whether you use the word prophet or not, they are a prophet. They call themselves one. A prophet does nothing but prophecy.
Did they create a map, Debator? If so they led everyone off a cliff. If God DOES have 1 organization on earth today, it CANNOT CANNOT CANNOT be the WT.

By saying that the lies (or mistakes as you like to call them) come from the holy spirit that directs the organization is blaspheming the holy spirit. It is the 1 unforgivable sin spoken of in the Bible. Be careful. The holy spirit did not direct ANY of these sayings of men.

I have a new question for you, Debator.
If I use the Bible and from it I say that something is going to happen in MY life in the future, does that make it a false prophecy? If I took a scripture in Revelation and applied it to my life as a future fullfilment, does that make me a false prophet? After all, I used the Bible, right? I used Bible chronology. Right?
It sounds like, according to you, a false prophet does not use the Bible in their prophecies. Is that correct?

What's interesting about this girl too is that she is someone like debator or alice that goes to "apostate" sites and tries to convert them. I guess it goes to show that you shouldn't give up on these guys. Maybe something you see will show them that they are not free and are stuck in a mind control cult.

leavingwt: No, I've slacked on reading these. I mostly have to read my books at work (due to being careful around my wife) and I couldn't find Stephen Hassaans book in pdf. I've read a ton of Randys posts on freeminds, but not his books. I need to stop putting this off.
I actually brought up the fact that JWs are similar to other mind control groups in almost every single way. Obviously she disagreed and changed the subject. But I did bring it up.

This girl also said that while prophecies of 1918/1919 and 1925 did not come true, other things happened in those years that fulfilled prophecy (i.e. End of WW1 and the establishment of the league of nations. I've never heard that one before...

new DVD, all GB members on it
by inbetween inwatched the new dvd last night, and i noticed, that i think all current gb members got a chance to say something on it.. even jaracz was part of it.. somehow it feels, that they try to become more popular lately.. their picture appeared in the book about acts last year, they give talks in big stadions (br.
jackson in vienna and other places), they appear in videos.
it seems like they try to educate the flock about their leaders, since most witnesses dont even know them really.... is this a pr move ?

I agree with Billy. I could see how they could be going about that route. Especially the comments in the 9/15/2010 (which I'm sure most of use know about) seem to go down that road.
