Debator, it IS a sin to enforce the speculation. It IS a SIN to go beyond what is written (Ga 1:6-9) It is a SIN to be a false prophet. I still don't understand where your definition of a false prophet comes from. We are using the biblical definition of Deut 18:20-22.

You never answered the issue, Debator. If I said that Since Haggai 2:22 says that the earth would shake, could I say that there would be an earthquake in Alabama at 2:22 in the morning tomorrow? I used the Bible right? Was this not a prophecy? Was it just a mistake that I made?

i've recently brought up the many false prophecies and she calls almost every week to show me new things that the society has said about false prophets and how they are not one.. the latest was the account where king david wanted to build god a temple.
he told nathan the prophet about his idea and nathan basically said, well god is with you, you should do it.

Did you notice how they use quotation marks when saying they are prophets. It's almost like they know what they are doing. They should be scared of what's coming.

Last night, after things got a little heated, I brought up the "new light" on the generations and how absolutely silly and ridiculous this was. She said "It is absolutely biblical! It's not silly!" So I said, "If I would have brought this up 2 years ago, and said I believed it and promoted it, I'd be disfellowshiped, and everyone would think I was believing a lie and being ridiculous. OVERLAPPING GENERATIONS?!?!? WHA?!?!?
She changed the subject. Seemed to be the theme.
