If I ran the WTS ...
by Simon in... and wanted to disrupt sites like this one and activities of 'apostates' in general, what would i do?.
would i send apologists who were obviously on the side of the wts to spew out the typical wts message, ones that would be quickly labelled and disagreed with?
maybe ... it would get people riled up.

I agree with Simon. One thing that is so hard to find after leaving the WTS is true passion and purpose in life. If someone's passion is the "blood issue" or child abuse so be it even if it doesn't get me that excited. Mine happens to be helping others heal from the self-esteem issues and find happiness in a relationship with God again if they choose to do so with out all the cynicism the WTS has poisioned us with. I know I have been criticized and called a hypocrit and stopped sharing that side a long time ago when it was the reason I initially came to this board.
Easy to get wrapped up in the B.S. and be apart of it. Good point, Simon.

Somepeople would rather win an argument than know the truth. That's why I stopped hanging out a kingdom halls.
Mexico is fugged, I don't see how you do it. I honestly feel guilty about supporting the economy there until they get their act together. The Mexican people deserve much better than what they get from their government there.
Costa Rica is nice I hear.

DGP you obviously have no clue who I am, where I am from, and where I live. You should visit Mexico.
Botzwana, don't take the attacks personally. He thinks I am a liar too. I live in Texas and have family in Monterrey and Mex. City. We used to drive but fly now with the drug cartels fighting so bad.

Does violence solve anything?
by d infor me i think in some cases violence does solve problems.what do you think..

If someone was killing your child and the police intervened would it be ok for the officers to use violence to stop the attacker?
Ofcourse. Violence is just action and is neither good or bad. It depends on where it is directed and the intent.

Not to take away from the original intent of the thread but here in Texas no permit is needed to carry your weapon in your vehicle any more. Also in this situation while it is wise for the police to be allowed to handle it, a private citizen would be within or very close to their rights to use lethal foce to stop a situation like that.
However, if you missed and hit a bystander you would be reponsible for that too.

suicide and wts funeral rules
by diamondiiz ini just found out that a husband of an old friend committed a suicide and i was wondering if there are any letters to elders or any wts rules concerning funerals for those who committed suicide.
i've looked in the elders book and letters to boe index and didn't find anything.
some posts here say they can have the funeral at the kh and some here said they couldn't hold it there because suicide was involved.

DGP just showed everyone he has never, ever, been to Mexico. Well maybe Cancun.
First of all there in no Interstate Highway system in Mexico like you have here so add about 2 hours for every 4 hours of driving here in the U.S. With the bandits, small town cops (whose salary is literally a percentage of the fines they collect, think bill collector with a badge), drug wars, federales, shitty roads, floods, wandering livestock, random fiestas, shady toll roads, bridges, and ferries, ok you get the idea. It's not a matter of jumping on the interstate and rolling down the road.
Secondly, it is illegal for anyone (including a citizen) to own any weapon larger than a .38 with permits. The penalty for breaking Mexican gun laws is like breaking our drug laws. A white guy in Mexico with an AK-47 is like a Mexican in a small Oklahoma town driving a beat up ford escort with no tags and kilo of coke in the trunk with a bud light in his hand. He's asking for a long prison sentence.
FYI, Mexican prison's love gringo prisoners. They don't eat or survive with out getting regular payments from the family back in the U.S.
No gun rights is why we kicked Santa Anna's ass down here in a little battle called San Jancito

How many went on to college after leaving the JW's?
by Cagefighter ini guess this is a question mostly for born-ins.
i wonder how many of you went to college after leaving or while you were in and what was your experience like?.

Wow, it's really cool to hear about people finding their passions and pursuing them after the Org. This to me seems to be the best way to move on after being born in and leaving. I have seen people (myself) wander aimlessly with out stopping to think about what is this life for. It's a question we never got to ask and answer honestly or critically.
Keep the stories coming, I love reading this stuff.
