I was never approached by the elders to become a ms -- so what does that tell ya? (for those who can't figure it out, it means I spent on average turned in way less than 10 hours in fs each month)

Be Honest: Did You ACTUALLY Report Accurate Field Service Time?
by minimus ini bet most people did not.
i think nearly everyone counted time spent on breaks.
or sitting in the car for an hour and a half while the elders did a "shepherding" call.

YOUR LAST MEETING.........................
by vitty in........................at my last meeting, the elder was talking about 1975 and said "it never happened, it is appostates using a time when (some) brothers took the info in the wt wrong"...................i just blinked and finally woke up.. i had been on this site lurking for a couple of weeks, and realized thing werent right, but to have some creep say on the platform " it didnt happen"............when this ruined my and my siblings childhood, just made me snap.
on the way home, i told my hubby "that was the last meeting im going to"................boy was he pleased.. .
so if you didnt get df ......................what happened at your last meeting.?.

Wow, I had to think on this one. But I believe my last meeting was the Sunday of Thanksgiving weekend in 2003. My parents were in town and I was flipping out right before thinking that I might get df'd during their visit(that would have been fun!). I had just been visited by the elders about dirtclod.com, so I figured the axe was about to fall.
But yeah, that was my last meeting. I didn't even show up to the kh for my jc meeting.

Can you let go?
by whyamihere inas i was sitting in a restaurant with my friend briana(ex-jw), we started talking about how we see other ex-jw's inability to let go.
i know many have suffered and endured horrific events or trials as jw's, which i assume it would be hard to let go.
though, do we really have the ability to let go lead a normal life with not thinking twice or having fear in our actions?.

I view it the same way as someone who may see children being verbally or maybe even physically abused in a daycare center. We all know that most children are not capable of fighting back against such abuses. If they do, they get kicked out of the center and then the parent(s) has/have to deal with placing them in another location. I see it as being similar to those who go to the kh's. Yes, even though most are adults, these same adults do not have the mental faculties bred into them to "fight" back. They know what will happen if they do.
If you were aware of abuses occurring in a daycare center, it would be your duty to report it to the authorities and to the parents. If you do not report it, you are just as guilty as the ones who are perpetrating it.
It's a slow process to get someone out. Most have to take mental baby steps before figuring out it is all just a ruse. It may only take weeks or months. For others, it may take several years. I feel it is my duty to help others get out and remain free of being mentally captive to the WTS. As I've made known plenty of times in the past, I feel that the blood doctrine is the single most damaging doctrine they have. It is the only one that kills. All others may seriously harm, but none can make the claim of death.
If I can save just one person from the grip of the WTS, I will feel much better about all of the time I wasted serving that organization.

Don't Like Your Avatar, Don't Like You!
by bigmouth insome time ago i attracted some really agressive responses that surprised me because i had no intention of offending so i had to learn a lot about how to word things on this forum, smiley faces etc so others would know i was pulling their leg, but i oftened wondered if a posters nickname or avatar puts you off instantly??
you know, first impressions.
i would think someone like satanus or mouthy would be intimidating but miss peaches was as nice as pie and this thinking might reflect how i would reply.

1978- Janesville Assembly Hall , Wisconsin
I was there! But I was only 5 years old at the time(we were part of the Fairfield, IA contingent). Funny, the only thing I remember from those assemblies were the food tickets. I probably saw you get baptized as I always went down to the front and watched up close. Facing the stage, the pool was to the left, correct? Mine was: May 11, 1991 - Escondido, CA Assembly Hall (the golden colored years)

The thing is, even if the local "corporation" is made up of responsible elders and ms's, the WTS can direct that they dissolve themselves. How many company men are going to argue with "mother?" And if they refuse, hoo boy, they just lost their appointments. Not to mention they could be df'd for spurious reasons.
