i will start....i can speak conversational albanian....thanks to the foreign language field...really useful in everyday life as a cleaner....sniff...why didnt i pick mandarin?

..would be useful when they take over the world....but one day i will find an albanian to talk to ...that or a needle in a haystack....the emmerdalian world of jw's

Geometry, Trig, and Calc are a breeze to me but I can fumble around in Algebra
I began my "How do things work" phase when I was two years old by totally disassembling the kitchen table and chairs(never outgrew it)
I can smell faint odors/scents from across the house(and it drives me nuts because I will think that the smell is right next to me)
I DO walk indian style. When I was little, I was always intrigued how the indians could "sneak" up on people. (My dad had a cabin on the remains of an old indian village in Pine Valley, CA. Pottery and arrowheads everywhere.) Most of my shoes wear heavily on the outside heel -- from walking outside heel and rolling it to the toe. I started walking that way when I was younger and now I can't change it.
I hate tomatoes when they are cut larger than 1/4" square, but I will devour salsa, pasta sauces, and ketchup without hesitation.
I will eat any vegetable unless it is from the squash family.
I squeegee myself off with my hands after taking a shower. Hey, it helps keep my towel dry!
I like music based on, well, the music. Lyrics do not mean anything to me. If I happen to know the lyrics, it is because I've heard the song a hundred times. Even then, the words do not register. They're just words - no story or nothin'. My wife doesn't understand this about me at all. With her, it's all about the lyrics. The music comes second. I prefer to have a singer's voice be part of the music - they can sing jibberish as long as their voice sounds like an instrument.
I can do most phases of home construction and remodeling extremely well, but my "day job" isn't remotely related.
I'll likely never have kids due to the fact that my wife is a jw and we have differing opinions on how they would be raised.

How long can you go to the meetings and not get baptized?

usually, adults who attend meetings regularly and aren't baptized yet are encouraged to do so.

usually after 1 or 2 years a person who attends meetings regularly will get baptized.. i wonder what would happen if a person would go to meetings for years and not want to get baptized.

would the elders finally brand them as evil or start shunning them somehow?.

I wonder how they would treat Jesus if he were born into a "jw family" and he was to wait until he was 30 to get dunked? The sisters would be going nuts over this "perfect" brother but their parents would still tell them they couldn't date him because he wasn't baptized yet.

Yeah, it would suck to be Jesus. No "jw" poontang until he gets wet, head-to-toes.

so its no surprise to most of the people here, but i stretch my earlobes.. and i just reached sort of a big milestone, for me i guess.. i made it to an inch.. that's 25 mm, for you crazy not americans stuck on the metric system.. and considering the original hole was exactly 1 mm in diameter, i just think its cool i increased the size by 25 times.. now if only i could stretch my bank account.. .

In the next 10-20 years, when you start seeing my generation taking over the business world

It's your life to do as you see fit Rich, but don't expect a generation of kids that appear as you do to take over the business world. I realize that your generation will be taking over, but what I meant was, do not expect to climb the corporate ladder very far with that personalized look(if climbing that ladder interests you). As far as you are taking this body augmentation of yours, I imagine that owning a body mod/tat shop is in your future?

Just remember, the more you change your body, the less mainstream jobs will become available to you. It's a fact, and one you probably already realize.

It is clearly seen as it strikes the ground. The next frame shows the explosion.

As I said before, if it is so clearly visible, why are there so many arguments debating if it is a plane or a missile? All the video shows is the nose of a white object. It is not clearly identified.

Both videos show the plane just before impact.

If they did, this entire thread would be moot. But no - those videos do not show the plane.

but it's a leap from there to "because people have the ability to conspire, 9/11 must have been a conspiracy," which is, I think, what our defeated and erstwhile friend was arguing.

All I'm saying is, it would be foolish to take a firm standing on either side. Some will take the side of what appears to be the rational and easily explainable non-conspiracist conclusions all the while labeling the administration as being incompetent, while others will run with the conspiracy. I was just using Northwoods as an example of why it would not be totally out of mind to view some aspects of 9/11 as a conspiracy. There are still quite a few unanswered questions out there which lead some to believe that a conspiracy exists. And as long as the *potential* proof remains under lock and key by the government due to "national security," there is no way in telling whether or not we should give credence to some of these conspiracist's theories.

They couldn't immediately put that into place even if they were a competent administration, which they're not.

I find these arguments ineffective and I'll tell you why. Prior to 9/11, I was flying back and forth from Houston to Denver every week for about 3 months. In my laptop backpack, I carried a bunch of hand tools. Some of these tools consisted of - screwdrivers, pliers, and box cutters. I was installing a new wireless data network in Denver and it required these tools. The box cutters were used to cut and strip the weatherproofing on coaxial connections on antennas and radio equipment. Of all these weeks of flying, I was questioned twice about these tools - both times at DIA. One time, the security people at the xray scanners almost confiscated my tools. Mind you, these are metallic objects that could kill someone very easily.

Back to my point - All it would have taken was a directive from the president for these security checkpoints to start confiscating these types of objects. Simple as that. No long term or outlandish planning would be required to do this. Just an xray machine, a metal detector, and a trash can. Items which every airport already had. I don't buy into the argument that 1,000's more airport personnel would be required to do what I had already been through. Prior to 9/11, I would have understood the need to confiscate my job tools. But no one ever told them to do so until it was too late. Or was that the plan in the first place?

The answer is, nothing would stop them from planning one. But reality would very likely prevent them from implementing it.

Exactly. Had Kennedy approved it, Cuba would likely be a US territory today - like a Puerto Rico. But when you compare the Kennedy administration to the Bush one, what major differences do you come away with? I see a "my way or the highway" mentality. You have a VP who equates the pulling of troops out of a neverending war as "supporting the terrorists" and being "anti-American." I'm just waiting for the pres or vp to flat out say, "We run this country, not you. Stay out of our business American people."

Is this simply your opinion or is it from someone that had input to Northwoods? From what I read, they had it planned down to a tee. It was only Kennedy who quashed it. Kennedy's entire JCoS signed off on it. Obviously they thought it would be a good idea...

Again, Northwoods doesn't prove anything about 9/11 - I have no problem with that. But in light of this document becoming public, it shows that a precedence existed dating back to the 1960's, at least. Who knows what else has happened in the world since then which was fabricated by governments.
