  Apologies From The Watchtower Society

  What if the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society owned up to its mistakes
  how would you react to it? Naturally, this is all speculation because the
  Watchtower is not the type of organization to admit to such.

  Would It Gain Your Respect?

  If the Watchtower made amends for its “sins”, would you show it more respect?
  How would your view change toward the Society or would it change if the Society
  apologized for its actions.

  I recall the church of God doing this and it lost nearly 50% of its membership.

  I don't know if it would gain my respect because it would be well overdue, but I think I could forgive them. I'd understand if some didn't though.

  Any apology they would ever feign would be insincere and so of no value. I mean, if they have no clue as yet as to the millions of lives they have negatively affected then there is no reason to believe they will ever own up to the harm they've inflicted. ... or something.

  Even if it did so what.

  Would i beleive their claim that they are the only true religion when i cannot prove it to myself from the scriptures.

  The Catholics church also apoligized for some of their mistakes but they are still kissing and bowing down to their statues.

  I would react with great skepticism to any such apology.

  After all, they could reverse any such apology and go back to their old ways. They would call it "new light" or "tacking in to the wind".

  I've seen too much of their blinking "light" to be impressed if it comes on for a moment.

  Mistakes I can forgive. The WT isn't guilty of mistakes. It far deeper than that.

  For me, the damage is done. The only thing that would please me is the complete destruction of the WTBTS.

  The only way I could accept an apology would be if there was entirely new leadership brought in--GB and corporate. Since there's no likelihood of that happening, then I wouldn't worry.

  If there were an apology now, I'd be shocked, but still wary. Would they still cover up pedophilia? Would they still df people who don't agree with them?

  I think if they did do this, it would only be self preservation on their part.
  
  There may come a time in the future when they do apologize, but only doing it to make themselves look good. When that happens, then people like us who know their real motives, and know them to be the liars they are, we will be made to look unforgiving in the public eye.
  
  The WT is cunning and manipulative, they know how to court the favor of the world, and how to avoid looking like the bad guy, they will use any means for self preservation, even if it is an insincere
  apology to appeal to the masses.
