  country girl, in her usual brilliant fashion, suggested this:how about he makes a list for both the boys *and* the girls, including time in, service at bethel, pioneering, elder, whatever.

  then both groups can be included on the list with notes of a person's service.

  the "notes" section will show what the person wants it to show, *and* the new lurkers can see how many impressive records there were for *both* the boys and girls!

  hello all:) some of you may remember me from 3 or 4 years back...i was talking about my decision to pursue a phd in australia and the topic of that dissertation was going to be jehovah's witnesses and women.

  well...i'm almost finished...but i would be interested in a doing a few more interviews with either current or ex jw women preferably in australia if possible.

  if you are interested let me know, my name is mim i'm a uni lecturer at a big uni in adelaide and i am an ex jw woman myself.. .

  Interesting topic, I wish I could participate, but I'm in the USA.

  Please let us know when you get published where to obtain your dissertation. I find it very interesting.

  I always thought a sociologist would have a field day with the JWs. Glad to see you are tackling it on the women's side. They are a very closed society and many don't understand the little nuances of the religion unles you've lived it.

  Send a great big G'day to an aussie visitor who needs sympathy right now

  right now there's a friend who needs a friend in sydney.. you've all 'been there' and can help him thru' it.. what do you say to someone who knows in his head that the borg just isn't right, yet was brought up "in the troof" and so knows nothing else.. then the borg's inhumane judicial procedures can cause unspeakable mental anguish and emotional disturbance.

  yet at this time there's simply no-one to turn to - a recipe for disaster.. so....would you give some words of reassurance to our new friend?

  tell him what it's like to be free of the borg.

  Hello!

  I agree with Mulan " Time does help to heal you." When I first came to this board and was going through all the dizzy-can't-believe-what-I-was-learning stuff, someone said "give yourself at least 2 years". And she was about right. But I had lived all my life that Armegedon was "anytime now" that it was hard to let go of that time factor and learn to just live.

  Give yourself time to grieve. Yes it is a grieving process to give up what we lived all our lifes for. The stages of grief are: Denial, Anger, Bargaining, Depression and Acceptance.

  Look at Ozziepost & Mrs Ozziepost. They have gone on beautifully with their lives and so will you.

  Welcome to the real world. Give yourself permission to be human.
