Family Pain
by MickeyP inmy 28 year old daughter has been with her partner for the past 7 years.
he has always been welcome in our home and has been a regular participant in our family celebrations.
yesterday, he was disgnosed with acute leukaemia and was told that without a blood transfusion, he would be dead in two weeks.

Yes, MickeyP, I'm sorry I missed this thread when it was originally posted. By now, without blood, your daughter's partner may have come to his demise.
I'm so sorry for the pain your daughter and family is going through.
There have been some really good thoughts given to you on this thread. Having been raised a JW and now seeing the high control the Watchtower has on its members, I know that no reason or logic is going to appeal to this man. I've found that only JWs that are questioning the "love" or doctrines of the Watchtower begin to understand how they have been lied to and held captive.
Please allow time for your daughter to grieve the life she had and the future they had planned together. Honesty is not taught to JWs, not in the sense that of being honest with one's feelings. They have to comply to Watchtower standards no matter how they feel, thus they get caught up in theocratic? warfare and deceive themselves and those they profess to love.
Be very weary of any JWs. But help those who are exiting and have pity on them.

intersex

watching a prog on ppl who are neither one sex or the other but are called intersex (wildew hermaphrodite etc) all sorts of conditions that resulted in them being both sexes in one body .it was facinating there were also a couple of men who had found that the reason they felt like women was because they had an extra x chromosone, they d spent all there lives feeling like weirdo's.. iw as wondering if anything liek this had ever come up in the org?

i wish that this resource was available 7 years ago when i walked away from the organization, it would have helped my transition a great deal.
i also wanted to say that it is enjoyable to come to a forum that is not on an angry rant about the organization on a constant basis.

I would like to see this story documented in the OB/GYN medical journals. (The Green or Gray Journals).
Having assisted on many C/Sections, this is not a simple procedure and cannot be sewn up with cotton thread by a nurse! There are too many vital organs that can be damaged if one doesn't know live anatomy. Bladder, bowel, etc.

Just had surgery...
by codeblue inyesterday i joined the "surgery club"...can't say i wish to keep being a member.
it was a same day surgery, but should have stayed at lest overnight.
didn't sleep much last night, as the pain meds made me itch terribly.
