ok, just an antidote here.
My husband used to make wine. But one year the batch all turned to vinegar. Well, his mom said she would use the vinegar wine in her cooking, to bring it to her. So the next time Steve was at his parents, which happened to be at a family member's funeral. We lived 150 miles from his parents at the time. He goes by his parents house before going to the KH to drop off several gallons of "wine" but the house was already locked. So he left the bottles on the door step because he was running late for the funeral. Some sisters? came to the house to prepare a meal for the family during the furneral services. They took the bottles inside and placed some on the dinning table. Well, when everyone was sitting down eating the meal, people started drinking the "wine" and nearly choked, spitting the vinegar out of their mouths!! Steve then figured out these sisters had picked up his "wine" and served it by accident.
Word to the wise, always smell and sip your wine first.
At least it lighten up the mood at that funeral meal.

Bill Maher mentioned JW's on his show last night
by Mulan inreal time with bill maher plays on hbo throughout the week.
the new show was on last night, and during the discussion, he started in on religion and talked about jehovah's witnesses and michael jackson's upbringing, including no birthday celebrations.
try to catch it, if you can.

I loved the way Bill Maher was talking about the Muslims ruling in Iraq and how crazy their religion was. Then he stated he was watching VH1 and how Michael Jackson was raised a JW and how guilty Michael was just throwing a birthday party for his mother.
Wasn't hard to connect the dots that he thought the crazy Muslims and JWs were similar with their crazy behavior and doctrines.

Bethel found out about him and offered to pay his student loans if he became the dentist at Bethel, which he did until the early 80s.

Tough day -- my mom died today
by cruzanheart inpoor thing, she's had alzheimer's for about 10 years and the last year she's been on hospice care because she's been so close to death.
the past few months she's been slowly filling up with water -- they gave her lasix (not sure of the spelling) to relieve the edema and it worked, sort of.
last weekend she actually looked a little better.

((((Nina))) I'm so sorry to hear of the loss of your mother. You have shared so much personal things about your life in such a heart felt way, that I'm just sobbing knowing that even though it was a relief, you are still grieving.
((((Chris, Jeanie & Jackson))) please be good to one another. You all are a beautiful family.
