i'm sure others have had the same experience, but it's a bit odd to me now as i see how all the business of jw-land and the constant social proddings can keep a person from leaving for quite some time.. if it hadn't been for the inquisition i might not have left.. .
i'm glad they felt my wife and i were important enough to hound, because that helped immensely.. now for the past two years now i've finally gotten back to being the book-consuming, thinking-machine i was in the past.. .
i feel like i woke up, came home and found myself sitting in a chair reading some odd sort of esoterica and the me that was there said:.

i know that the failed predictions of amageddon for 1914, 1918, 1925, during wwii, and 1975 have been well documented here and other places, but are there any [documented] 'prophesies' that actually came true?.
dc.
Clear enough here...

However, Jehovah did not let the people of Christendom, as led by the clergy, go without being warned that the League was a counterfeit substitute for the real kingdom of God. He had a “prophet” to warn them. This “prophet” was not one man, but was a body of men and women. It was the small group of footstep followers of Jesus Christ, known at that time as International Bible Students.Today they are known as Jehovah’s Christian witnesses. They are still proclaiming a warning, and have been joined and assisted in their commissioned work by hundreds of thousands of persons who have listened to their message with belief.
Of course, it is easy to say that this group acts as a “prophet” of God. It is another thing to prove it. The only way that this can be done is to review the record. What does it show?
i don't know if this is going to make sense to anyone, but here goes.. okay so according the jw elders in my hall "we can't say for sure whether or not certain people will die at armageddon.
" however, we know the jw stance is really "if you aren't a jw, you are doomed.
" but apparently these elders said that wasn't the case.
WTWizard---And, if no one preached, the rocks were supposed to. So, why are we supposed to waste our time and go preach at great hardship when the damn rocks could do the same thing? Last I knew, rocks do not get tired, need to eat or sleep, get too cold or hot, and they cannot be threatened with a dog. And, wouldn't more people believe a rock preaching than a human?
ROTFL !!!
Makes sense to me...

Perhaps you can show me how to understand this scripture ...
Matt 24...
45 “Who really is the faithful and discreet slave whom his master appointed over his domestics, to give them their food at the proper time? 46 Happy is that slave if his master on arriving finds him doing so. 47 Truly I say to YOU, He will appoint him over all his belongings.

on jan 21 and 22, 2011 a nation wide protest is being organized to alert people on the discrimination that is blatantly taking place in the watchtower organization.
the public needs to know about the disfellowshipping and subsequent shunning that is going on in the jehovah's witness cult.
this flagrantly heinous, wicked practice must be stopped.
The average person doesn`t give a shit about what jehovah`s witnesses do ,nor do they give a shit about what ex jehovah`s witnesses do.(they made their bed let them lie in it ) smiddy

my wife and i had stopped going to meetings in april; in december of that year we travelled interstate and stayed with the witness couple who had "brought me into the truth".
we had already told them we'd quit meetings and there was a certain tension in the air for the first couple of days until sunday morning, when, over a breakfast that eventually lasted several hours, they began to interrogate us about why we had left.
had we been stumbled?
w09 5/11 Build Confidence in the Bible...
1 Build Confidence in the Bible
“All Scripture is inspired of God and beneficial for teaching, for reproving, for setting things straight.”—2 Timothy 3:16.
WHAT IS THE CHALLENGE? Many maintain that the Bible is nothing more than a book of human wisdom. Some believe that it is historically inaccurate. Others claim that the Bible’s counsel is impractical or out-of-date.
HOW CAN YOU OVERCOME THE CHALLENGE? Often, those who question the reliability or usefulness of the Bible have not investigated the matter for themselves. They merely repeat what others say. However, the Bible warns: “Anyone inexperienced puts faith in every word, but the shrewd one considers his steps.”—Proverbs 14:15.
Instead of blindly accepting what others say, why not follow the example of the first-century Christians who lived in Beroea, in what is now northern Greece? They did not just accept what others told them. Rather, they had a reputation for “carefully examining the Scriptures daily as to whether these things were so.” (Acts 17:11) Let us briefly consider two reasons why you can have confidence that the Bible is the inspired Word of God.

Literature offer for January: What Does the Bible Really Teach? If householders already have the book, congregations that have a stock of Knowledge That Leads to Everlasting Life and Worship the Only True God may offer either of these books. Otherwise, publishers may offer any older field publications on hand in the congregation. February: Is There a Creator Who Cares About You? Publishers may also offer The Bible-God's Word or Man's? or The Secret of Family Happiness. March: What Does the Bible Really Teach? Make a diligent effort to start Bible studies. April: The Watchtower and Awake! magazines. When making return visits on interested people, including those who attended the Memorial or other theocratic events but who are not actively associating with the congregation, concentrate on starting studies using the Bible Teach book.
Starting in February, the new public talk for the circuit overseers will be "How Does the Truth Affect Your Life?"
The branch facilities in Brooklyn, Patterson, and Wallkill, New York, will be closed for spring cleaning on Friday, May 13, 2011. There will be no arrangements for tours or for congregations to pick up literature on this day

WHAT TO SAY ABOUT THE MAGAZINES
Watchtower January 1
Read Genesis 2:16, 17. Then say: "Some say that God knew in advance that Adam would sin. Others feel that God's warning would've been hypocritical if he already knew the outcome. What do you think? [Allow for response.] This article that begins on page 13 explains how God uses his ability to know the future."
Awake! January
"Some believe that religious faith is based more on emotion than on sound reason. What do you think? [Allow for response.] According to the Bible, religious faith should not be blind. [Read 1 John 4:1.] The article that begins on page 28 explains how to make sure that our faith is based firmly on reason."
Watchtower February 1
"Divorce is very common today. What do you think is the main cause of this? [Allow for response.] Notice this advice that many couples have found helpful. [Read 1 Corinthians 10:24.] This magazine considers six common complaints made by husbands and wives and shows how applying Bible principles can help."
Awake! February
"There seems to be a growing interest in vampires, witches, and sorcerers. Do you think that involvement in the occult is harmless? [Allow for response.] Notice this warning God gave to ancient Israel. [Read Deuteronomy 18:10-12.] This magazine shows what the Bible says about the occult."

in october of 2000, i faded away from the watchtower.
like most people, i have family and friends who are jw's (including my wife and parents).
fading is generally the best method for people in that situation.
Worth reading...Thanks
