  Remain Close to the Governing Body DC

  i just finished all 3 days of the dc and, for what it's worth, wanted to get down some of the highlights i enjoyed.

  i went with family and i only did it for them, and hope to never attend another assembly ever again.. .

  the whole thing was pretty boring and uncomfortable due to the stadium style seating which doesn't favour my long legs and ac being blasted too high.. .

  Discussion on the way out of convention

  sunday evening there were a group of sisters talking on their walk back to the carpark.

  "so if the generation just means that your life overlapped with people who were around in 1914, couldn't that just go on forever?".

  ""i guess...." (looked at each other confused, then at me as i walked past).. to which i said: "oh yes, remember the days when the generation was a simple 70 years from 1914?".

  What I'm seeing and hearing from my friends that are still "in" and hooked, they don't care about the new generation understanding. My mom for one says that she always thought it was like this new understanding, I call bullshit, told her if that was true than she wasn't keeping up with "Jehovah's chariot" (hows that for counter-attack) she just gave me that look like yeah whatever. My one friend says that this convention was the best one yet... right, how many times have we heard them say that? Every new DC that comes out? Yeah, that's what I thought. I asked her what new point that she enjoyed. Her response, oh it was just so good and encouraging! I asked, what about the further explanation to the new generation understanding? She goes, huh?

  That's right folks, people are drinking the kool-aid and not caring, not knowing, and taking the bait like good drones do...

  Tips on going to my first DC in 12 years...

  i am seriously considering going to the dc here in adelaide.. i want to hear first hand stuff i have only read about, i want to see how it feels to be a fly on the wall.. i want to record the program and get the new releases.. i want to hear what my kids are made to hear.. any suggestions?

  Still Feeling Lost...What to Do Next?

  i'm wondering how many of you still feeling a burning need to know god and have a relationship with him.. i am dealing with the horrible emotions of having faded, done some things that would be considered immoral, stopped praying (not sure i ever prayed right) and generally just feeling lost...... what have some of you done to get back on track?

  i've been fading for a year and a half.

  missing my first dc..... ugh.....having a crappy morning i guess...... just feel like i want to talk to god, but can't.. ironic, huh?

  Don't know if I can say anything to help, but I'll tey...

  Remember that the bible says that God is always there for us to return to him, all we have to do is pray. I found that my spirituality has improved immensely after realizing that the org has no control over my spirituality and relationship with God. You would be amazed at how easy it is to pray to him, just be open, it's almost like therapy.

  Hang in there, keep your chin up and be true to yourself. It WILL get easier and better, reading CofC and any other books mentioned on this site will help you to get through this as well.

  i wonder if anyone actually enjoys them.

  i have heard scattered reports about how a few actually enjoyed at least a few of the older songs (back when there were 225 of them).

  but i have heard nothing but reports of the new songs being impossible to properly sing, very poorly written or performed, or downright blasphemous and promoting blatant idolatry.

  I've done a bit of travelling this year, been to friends congregations and if not, talked about it with them. Non one, I mean NO ONE likes the new songs. Every congo I went to sounds like dying cats. Most of the time the speaker or chairman after the song before prayer or introduing the speaker will make a comment about how bad or how we need to work on the songs.

  The songs are absolute shit. Last week we started a song the was an old one but redone, before I thought they kept at least one song untouched, then came the chorus and totally changed the old song. It's crap. Not that I really care anymore, but whoever is in the writing department for the songs lack any skill or musical aptitude.

  Just tell them you no longer wish to be an unbaptized publisher. They'll take you off the list and that's that, if they ask why, just tell them you disagree with their teachings and leave it at that, no need to go into depth on why etc. Being an UP is easy to walk away with little to no effect.

  well, i have been a memeber for a while.

  thought the site was gone.. nice to see its still up and running.. learned alot here.. to summerize..........born into the jdub......got df'd at 15.... (am 34 now)on purpose (was molested by my uncle, so wanted out, saw the bs of covering that kind of thing up at an early age),.

  dad was an elder, grandad was a po, etc.. left home after being df'd..........ran away....never to return....had a hard time learning how the " world" really was.. anyways......just glad to see this board is still around........just wanted to extend myself to anyone who needs to talk about abuse or the difficulty of "getting out".

  this could have been used instead of polluting powerplants.

  Well, as for the experiment, it works. I've done it in school way back when. Not this exact trial, but using magnets. Not a trick at all if you know magnets, stator coils, etc.

  The following comments made within the original post is misleading. You're cherry picking to make a point that is irrelevent to the clean energy motor test. Similar to a dub that cherry picks scriptures to support a point the the scripture in context has nothing to do with the point in the first place.
