james_woods, it is still announced at the service meeting. SM can be on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays...any night of the week, depending on how many congregations share the hall.

reiteration that the below is a discussion of chapter 5 from 'shepherding the flock of god' which is published by the wts of penn/ny.

the wts is a non-profit that distributes it's publications free of charge worldwide.

this particular publication while not for sale (well none of the wts publications are either technically) is not distributed broadly but is still nonetheless part of their bible educational work, while not required donations are joyful accepted by all jws for the purpose of this work....... here are the previous discussion threads:.

There you have it folks. If you are asked to meet with the elders and refuse, you are NOT admitting accountability to the WTS. I like these little tidbits of 'insider' elder stuff. Makes me know how to fight them!

this is probably directed more to dubs who are having doubts than to ex-dubs, but it is still appropriate for both groups.

i'll only be offering my own personal opinion here, of course, but then again, i'm never wrong about anything.

well, i was wrong once; that was the time i thought i was wrong about something.. when it comes to definitive books which clearly expose the wts for what it really is, there is one which towers over all the others, and that book is 1984 by george orwell.

At what point did you realize JW's were a Cult?

most of us x-jw's at one point no doubt defended the jw's when called a cult.

althought being out since 95', when i first came here it took awhile before i could use the cult word to describe the jw religion.

finding out about the pedophile scandal was disgusting, but it was probably finding out here about the wts history and terrible personal experiences of some on this board that made me finally admit that the jw's were a cult.

I had the same sentiment Jadeen. I was reading Releasing the Bonds, and when I read and re-read the BITE model, I just had to stop. Pick up my jaw from the floor and realization settled in and I was in shock. It's one thing to hear comments that JWs are a cult, but its another to read it, understand it and accept it.
