  The point is that bad publicity in any form will help take down the WTBTS. Once they go down the members are no longer in an environment to abuse children. No, this will not eliminate abuse on the grand scheme of things, but one less cult around the better.

  There are other things that Anonymous could go after as well.Once you get into their system, you can mine it for anything, scandals, money transfers, financial backers, investments, documents that are "top secret" and they wouldn't want the rank and file to know etc.

  Look at the big picture, stop focusing on just one type of attack. The more holes in their ship, the faster it will sink.

  Anonymous should be taken very seriously. Tech savvy degree'd programmers forming an online coalition of anonymity used in a focused assault can wreck havoc on any institution.

  If you haven't heard of Anonymous you are not up to date on current events or don't watch/read the news online.

  Cedars, not sure if someone caught this, but the link to Ray Franz' book on Scribd you have in your article is not working, at least not for me, I get an error message when clicking.

  It doesn't matter what their reasons are for doing this. It will expose the WTBTS for what it is and any "bad press" that is widely known and accepted will keep people from joining this cult.

  As for Anonymous themselves, take a look around the web at the damage they've done to the organizations they've gone after. Denial of service attacks is only a skirmish tactic, these guys have hacked into government and corporate databases.

  Also, I don't understand how this would not protect the children? This gets out and it puts the pedophile topic at the forefront or people's minds. Imagine them going d2d and the public at large bring this up? Witnesses will try to defend themselves but if the public are prepared, there won't be any converts. Meaning: no converts, no more children indoctrinated, no more children in a pedo's safehaven to abuse.

  Another thing, imagine that list coming out and someone finds their name on it and is wrongly accused? Hello lawsuit! Lawsuit = more money drain on the org = less money to further their propaganda.

  Is the Governing Body overdue to make new appointments?

  i'm doing some research for a new blog article on the governing body.

  it's in a question-and-answer or "faq" format, and attempts to give simple but well-founded answers to most questions that people could conceivably ask about the governing body.. one thing i noticed when looking at the history of the governing body is that we seem to be in the middle of a lengthy "dry spell" when it comes to making new appointments.. gerrit losch is currently the longest-serving member having been appointed in 1994. however, his appointment came at the end of a 17 year period in which no appointments were made.

  this contrasts notably with the remarkable six-year period between 1971 and 1977 when 15 members were added.. since losch's appointment, 4 members were added in 1999 (herd, lett, pierce and splane) and 2 more recently in 2005 (morris and jackson).. the seven year spell since the last appointments were made has seen the deaths of barber, barr, jaracz, shroeder and sydlik - cutting the number of governing body members almost in half.

  Well, the annual meeting is coming up in a couple of months and that's when appointments are made. It would be a surprise to me if they did appoint one this year.

  Playing Devils Advocate (from a JW PoV) they need (like Ceders said) to appoint a couple, maybe even 3 new members, preferrably in there 50's to get some "youngblood" in there. I mean, hell, there ARE over 12k annointed now right? Oh, I mean partakers.... That's a good pool to pull from...
