Honestly I don't know what is what,right now I am a theist awaiting more convincing proof of organic evolution,before I switch to atheist.

I don't let religious sects speak for God,this I know about our comparison with animals.Just because we share close genetics with animals means nothing.It does not support evolution for me,it only shows that the animals our close to us so we can bond with them and frigging eat them.

Correct me if my science facts are off,but we humans have the largest brain of any creature except the blue whale (same size as ours 31/2 lbs) Our Brain uses 8 X's as much glucose as the next 'smartest' animal the ape.Apes and even the lowly homing pigeon have a memory found to be superior to ours,what a pigeon must remember to navigate is astounding.The chimpanzee can beat the human with the best score in the world for memorizing.But they cannot adapt like us,an ape will not don clothes if it's habitant gets cold and it will not build a fire.

I just put down a pet herbivore a hind gut fermenter with a cecum 10X larger than humans, and thought of how much i enjoyed caring and protecting this gentle creature for 9 years before it died of old age.In some ways this critter was superior to me as it can can eat grass as a subsistence herbivore.Humans cannot digest cellulose we call it insoluble fiber.This animal can eat grass the most abundant food on the planet,if humans could less starvation?

We are different than animals made in God's Image and likeness to have a CONSCIENCE?It's dog eat dog in the animal world predatore vs prey,and by-the-way why would a 'loving' God create predation?Big fish eat little fish from the one celled crittters on up.

People leave the Org but don't drop the doctrine?

this deserved its own thread.

one thing i have observed being able to speak freely to individuals now about the wtbts is that even though they fade, they hold one to all or a portion of the doctrine.. if you examine the doctrine openly and fully you will see it has as many holes in it as the org does.

although it may appeal to you it doesn't make it sound scripturally.

what if a powerful government were to hatch a plot to exterminate jehovah's witnesses as an organization?.

they ask this question at the bottom of page 23 of the july wt, and i thought the wording was kind of strange.

the target is not jws "the people" (as in nazi germany) but the org alone.

That was almost a word for word Freddy Franz rant from the mid 1970's I can remember it like it was yesterday.

My JW dad and I had countless discussions of it,our mouths watering on how Jehovah was going to make it so and how glorious it was to be in the 'truth.

Been there.......O-kay so am I merciful and understanding of JW's in 2012?

No so much,as they have the failing 1914 and the internet I had NO alternate sources except a handful of crusty old 'evil slave' class

If I heard/read it once I heard/read it dozens of times the Watchtower apocalyptic time line goes as follows : At a glance~ A. cry of peace & security achieved by secular,commercial,political powers. my wife and i just visited some friends over the weekend from another congregation.

these two are both full time pioneers, and also participate in various construction projects around the country.

the husband just got back from a 3 week trip to walkill, new york to help with construction on a new residence building at 'the farm' (does anyone call it that anymore?)..

Need some help guys on blood

recently on the topix website we have talking about blood transfusions.. it has been asserted by one ex witness that jws are now allowed to store their blood providing it is for a limited time.

for example the blood could be taken from the patient sent to the lab to have it cleaned or whatever, and then returned to the patient.

the november 2006 kingdom ministry was cited to back this up as well as a watchtower from 2000. my question is, are jws now allowed to store their blood for a current limited time?.

Jehovah's Witnesses also take whole blood, as long as it's called "current therapy." This is something not found in medical literature, per se. But, it is described by the religion as a taking of blood from a person, mixing it with compounds in a lab, and later retransfusing the blood back into the patient.

So, it appears that JWs can have their blood separated from their body and later reuse it too. If this doesn't sound *bloodless* to any of you reading it, it's not. And, the result is that the JWs are questioning their religion's requirement that they not take a blood transfusion.
