  The pope

  the pope was admitted to hospital and on the national tv (rai) they were saying that he has an entire apartment right in the h just for himself, not only that but the room just below was emptied just to avoid noise for him.

  unbelivable!

  recently a man in italy died because the ambulance could not find a bed for him in a hospital so by the time they arrived to the one bed that was available 200kms away he was dead.

  Sounds to me like you have a problem with older people who have certain physical disabilities. Remember these comments should you reach 84 years of age and aquire some physical problems. The Pope has had decades of experiences that we young ones can learn a lot from. We may disagree with his conclusions on certain things...but his experiences are valuable nonetheless.

  I am troubled by this tendency in our culture to just throw old people away and it seems that is what you are advocating. I admire the Pope for still doing his best to serve others in spite of his physical ailments. He is a tough man.

  One of the single strongest advocates for social justice in the world, currently, is dying in the hospital... and you fools call him a relic.

  Hi Czar:

  You make a great point here. The writings of this Pope are very powerful. He always stresses the inherent dignity of man who has been made in the image and likeness of God. I have great respect for the Pope and his work in the area of human rights.

  I would also say that this Pope does emphasize the Church Militant. He wants the members of the Church Militant to be leaders in the area of advocating for human rights throughout the world.

  I believe the Holy Father is a living Saint.

  Does "Loyalty" work both ways in the Org?

  as jw's we are asked to be "loyal" to the organization.

  all this means is, say "yes" to everything they ask, and believe everything they teach without questioning.. how about the jw organization, are they loyal to their members?

  if a brother of sister falls sick, loses a job, becomes invalid, will the jw organization show loyalty to that person and help out?

  Absolutely not!!!

  The org is loyal ONLY to the org. They use people up and when they are done with you, they spit you out. Spend any time at Bethel and that is what you will see.

  Bethel wants lawyers!

  at this week's service meeting it a letter was read to all congregations in usa:

  bethel wants lawyers, lawyers specializing in tax law, and cpa's.

  if you are in any of these professions you were supposed to talk to the po that evening.

  This is nothing new.

  I remember when I was at Bethel hearing about how the Society had sent certain Bethelites to college and paid for it so they could use their expertise.

  I thought it was massively hypocritical to be so anti college and then turn around and pay for certain Bethelites to go to college.

  Heck, there was one congregation where a friend of mine was put on restrictions because he was going to college to become a CPA.

  they even say that their objection to war proves that only they are true christians.. some people who are currently studying with the jws have been asking me questions on how to answer jws when they ask questions about war.. so, i put up an article on the subject at catholicxjw.com.

  Hi Barney:

  I am glad you read the article.

  I hate war also. I think we probably could have dealt with Saddam without invading. But, that is water under the bridge now. We are in there so we better do the rebuilding right.

  My hope is that wars will become more and more rare. But as long as there is sin in the world, there will be people doing bad things and those bad things sometimes lead to wars.

  By the way, as a Catholic I also do not base my beliefs strictly on a book.
