The 5% that is true is the part of the book that says that the book was published by the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society.

Hi Gang:
Maybe your comments are getting to them. This was on their website under relevancy:
"How though, some critics may ask, can a morally conservative religion have any role in defending liberal freedom of choice? Wouldn't Jehovah's Witnesses be considered an enemy to a woman who seeks full reproductive rights over her body or a gay man who seeks the right to marry? Witnesses don't let women hold leadership positions. They strongly believe abortion and gay marriage are wrong. Within the congregation, Witnesses shun their own baptized friends and family who exercise individual freedoms that violate their interpretation of the Bible's moral code. Yet Witnesses acknowledge their legal victories have helped outside groups with whom they don't agree. Jehovah's Witnesses do not try to influence the political process by legislating their beliefs, imposing them on their non-Witness neighbors. Jehovah's Witnesses are staunchly apolitical and have no connection to what is commonly known as the "religious right." Jehovah's Witnesses would not protest an abortion clinic or lobby against the legalization of gay marriage. They are moral conservatives who refuse to fight in the Culture War."

Hi Rambaldi:
Catholics believe that dealing with the end times is very important.
For one, if when we die, that it is it. It is all over we are judged.
If Jesus comes before we die, then that is it also we are judged.
So, it does not really matter in a certain sense for in the Catholic perspective either God comes for us and we are judged at our death or Jesus returns and we are judged then.
To try to predict the date that Jesus returns is something that is clearly forbidden in scripture. The Jehovah's Witnesses have engaged in this sort of thing from the beginning of their existence as Bible Students.
You can be watchful for Jesus' return without engaging in making false prophecies or predictions that are clearly forbidden in scripture.
Peter is, of course, speaking of those who do not believe that Jesus will ever return. This is not the case with Catholics. Each time Catholics celebrate Mass, which is everyday in most cases, we are proclaiming the death of the Lord until He comes and this is part of keeping watch for Jesus' second coming.

Hi Gang:
I wanted to give an explanation for the Catholic Church Pillar and Bulwark of Truth T-Shirts.
The Watchtower teaches that anyone is not physically a part of their organization is going to be destroyed.
The Catholic Church does not teach this. The Catholic Church teaches that it is the Church founded by Christ. Those of us who physically belong to the Catholic Church believe this. Otherwise, I would not have become Catholic.
Those believers outside of the Catholic Church are also part of the Catholic Church but they are not completely in union with us. In other words, it is an imperfect communion. So, individuals who are not members of the physical Catholic Church but are Lutheran, Presbyterian, etc. etc. are still my Christian brothers and sisters but are referred to as separated brothers. I have no doubt that such ones who are faithful to their beliefs will get to heaven.
However, it is the belief of Catholics like myself and I think I can speak for Claude Kenneson too that we believe that the fullness of Christian truth lies in the Catholic Church and that those truths found in other Christian denominations and even in other non-Christian religions such as the JWs and Mormons are connected to the Church Jesus founded, the Catholic Church.
For example, when I was a JW, I was taught that the Bible is the word of God. This is a Catholic truth taught by the JWs. This truth through the grace of God eventually lead me and others to the fullness of the faith in the Catholic Church. (Historically, the only reason we know the Bible to be the word of God is because the Catholic Church has taught us this.)
In any case, I hope that clears things up.
Jeff Schwehm
P.S. There are some Catholic groups that do go door to door. One is the Legion of Mary and the other that I know about is The Legionaries of Christ.

Hi Heathen:
The Catholic Church has not changed any of its dogma actually. They have changed some of their disciplines or practices. Dogma according to Roman Catholic Tradition cannot change. Which Dogma specifically have they changed?
