Great job on the interview. You were very good. I can certainly relate to the problem of not feeling things as you should. Being raised a JW, I was taught how to be inauthentic if that makes any sense.

By the way, I was born in New Orleans and raised in the New Orleans area. I live in Wisconsin now. What brought you to New Orleans and did you spend any time with the JWs in the New Orleans area?

My family attended the East Metairie Congregation, the Covington Congregation, and the Abita Springs Congregation. I have relatives that have attended the Jefferson Congregation, the Slidell Congregation and the Lacombe Congregation. Plus we have tons of friends all over southeast LA. (Well, I guess I should say former friends.)

Brothers are scheduled to work 3 Saturdays out of 4, 2 when they reach 50; sisters get off lightly with working 2 (?) until they are 30 and 1 until they are 40 when they get all of them off (correct me, my memory is not as good as it could be). I was told it was to cut down on the recreation on the weekends. It seems that carloads of young brothers were driving as far as Chicago from NYC to attend "parties" and driving back. There were a couple of accidents putting Bethele workers out of commission for a while at the WTS expense. Can anyone confirm this?

That is what it was like when I was at Bethel in the late 1980's and when I asked why that was the exact same reason they gave me. By the way, Bethelites know how to party!!!!

I once interpreted the Good Samaritan parable for a JW on-line in the same way you did. I was very specific in pointing out that the Jews viewed Samaritans as apostates and yet it was the apostate Samaritan that behaved properly as the "true neighbor" instead of the Jewish passers-by who had all the "correct" doctrine in the world. His response was that I was reading too much into the parable. He soon quit talking to me because I was making him very uncomfortable.
