Wow! This article reminds me of what the JWs were like back in the mid-eighties when I was a young JW and discouraged from going to college.
I wonder how successful they will be with this since the cat is now out of the bag so to speak.

conscience
jehovah's witnesses avoid making rules and regulations beyond those provided in the scriptures, and they do not follow traditions that contradict bible teachings.
emphasis is placed on personal application of bible principles and the value of a sound, bible-based conscience.matthew 15:9; 2 corinthians 1:24.
The double speak should not be surprising....afterall the religion was started by an attorney.

when you were going door to door, although you had the pure intention of teaching people what you taught was god's will, did you realize back then, that if they listened to you and accepted a bible study that you were also screwing up their lives and that they would suffer greatly by this?.
it was always in back of my mind.....
Hi gang:
I remember the last time I conducted a Bible Study. I had recently returned from Bethel and I was asked by someone to fill in for them. I was having serious doubts at the time about 1914 and other things but I went ahead and conducted the Bible Study anyway. While I was teaching this person the 1914 doctrine, I was saying to myself, "How can I teach this when I know deep down this is all baloney??!!". It was pretty much at that point that I vowed never to conduct a Bible Study with the JWs publications again. I also started to feel sorry for the guy because I realized that if he became a JW, I was assisting him to go down the same road of disappointment that I was going down.

i tried it, could not swallow all the lies and misinformation they had.
i am sorry, but even if you deny the whole witness faith, there is still parts to christianity that they pointed out that you can not just ignore and act like it is okay to join another faith that is christian.
are you going to become catholic when your know their history?
Hi:
You might find our website interesting. There are quite a few of us former JWs who are now Catholics.

this is a question i have had for over 13 years, since i first found out that rutherford had a house, named beth sarim, built for him in san diego.
where did the money come from for the 100 acres of land the house was situated upon, and for the design and construction of the house?
in the proclaimer's book, it is said that a "direct contribution" was made for the house.
Not only did Rutherford have Beth Sarim but he also had Beth Shan which if I remember correctly was a place where he could hide and have lots of food and other things once the end of the world hit.
In addition, Rutherford drove around in a very nice 6 cylinder cadillac if I am not mistaken. Having one of those during the middle of the Great Depression had to cost a pretty penny even in those days.
Rutherford is the prototypical cult leader in my opinion.
