"the faithful and discreet slave” does not endorse any literature, meetings, or Web sites that are not produced or organized under its oversight.—Matt. 24:45-47."
This is true, so what? If you think Jehovah's Witnesses are only locked into what the “faithful and discreet slave” disseminates in the way of knowledge, you have the wrong idea. The encouragement to keep focused doesn't mean "live in a vacuum."

Worldly Shunning
by alice.in.wonderland ini hear quite a bit of criticism about jehovah's witnesses enforcing 1 corinthians 5:9-13. while jehovah's witnesses have a formal system of maintaining the organization's core values; egocentric, self-worshiping secularists have an informal system of rejecting those of whom they have nothing in common with.

most major religions have believed in the existence of a supernatural realm, a realm beyond the natural world of physical objects and bodies governed by causal laws, the world we perceive with our senses and can study by rational methods.

"What a silly, sad moron you are that that's the best you can come up with."
I wasn't trying to pick a fight. For the most part I'm a peaceful person.
I generally do not pin people down for not answering a question(s) as this little discussion group we have here is supposed be somewhat interesting. Answering uninteresting questions makes the forum irritating. None-the-less, people do it to me all the time.
I've asked you several times to define your religious beliefs aside from venting your usual anti-JW rhetoric and I have received no response.
This is because if you were to subject whatever it is you believe to the standards of criticism you use while analyzing Jehovah's Witnesses it would lead you directly back to Jehovah's Organization in a search for truth (provided you care or can even handle the truth).
You are no different than anyone else who is up the existential creek without a paddle or prayer book, not knowing where you came from or where you're headed.

“Thank you so much for the summary Randy. If there is a life after this one, I sincerely doubt that Ted Jaracz is enjoying it as one of Christ's brethren. Knowing that his hard-line policy on covering up the pedophile problem caused so much harm to thousands of Witnesses is proof that this religion is run by a bunch of thugs who are only interested in their own power.
I hope the scumbag burns in Hell."

This is the first time I've heard an “ex-Jehovah's Witness” reenact the fearful mindset that firmly believes human beings deserve to go to hell and goes as far as to wish it on a member of the Governing Body.
The “if there is a life after this one” statement confirms what I stated earlier: You are no different than anyone else who is up the existential creek without a paddle or prayer book, not knowing where you came from or where you're headed.
Jehovah's Witnesses don't believe in Hellfire. I'd never wish anyone a permanent fate at Armageddon or a sentence to burn indefinitely. -

When I was a teenager I listened to 80's, 90's metal. Now that I'm older I don't listen to the crap anymore. Music is like an outlet. However, I believe that the lyrics do make their way into the conscious and subconscious of the listener, and will influence their attitudes, perspectives, and emotions if they don't consciously screen and qualify them. The real fact is that once having heard or seen something, you can't unhear or unsee it, and it will leave an impression one way or another.

You know what they say: Shape up or ship out. Either improve one's performance (or behavior) or leave. Besides, you have lots of "e-friends" here.

tec already posted a response to the claims of any potential parallels in themselves.

The gods and goddesses worshiped by the Egyptians give evidence of an underlying Babylonian heritage. The Assyrian gods and goddesses are identical with the Babylonian deities. Do you think it's likely the gospel authors even spoke the Egyptian language? The Egyptian language is a branch of the Afroasiatic language family (minority language).
This tableaux, from the Papyrus of Hunefer, shows Hunefer's heart being weighed as above. In the previous scene, Hunefer is led by Anubis to the judgment hall. In the panel after the weighing, the triumphant Hunefer, having passed the test, is presented by Horus to the shrine of the green-skinned Osiris, god of the underworld and the dead, accompanied by Isis and Nephthys. The 14 gods of Egypt are shown seated above, in the order of judges.
If someone didn't explain this, would you have any idea what's going on here?
You have to study what remains of Egyptian mythology intuitively to see what it even means. What’s being suggested is that Bible writers that authored the Gospels borrowed ideas from a polytheistic religion that worshiped celestial deities, the Sun god Horus (a solar deity).
Matthew was written in Palestine
Mark was written in Rome
Luke was written in Caesarea
John was written in Ephesus
So the four Gospel writers (fisherman) made a trip to Upper Egypt to borrow from inscriptions from Egyptian temples and the Book of the Dead? That’s over a thousand miles.
Apart from the Old Testament and related sources, there are only a few surviving records of any sort from the Mosaic era, mostly in the form of inscribed stone slabs called stelae. (Horus dates back to 3000 B.C.E.) I think the theme of the Old Testament was much different than any of the polytheistic religions in surrounding territories. Jesus in the New Testament had a personality that has impressed people for ages, Jesus was a personage compared to a myth like Horus. There’s also historical evidence for Jesus’ existence from secular sources, not to mention calendars revolve around his presence (B.C.E. Before the Christian Era, C.E. Christian Era). I think the small idiosyncrasies between Horus and Jesus are inflated by religious opponents for self-serving reasons.
The Jesus-Horus myth was initiated from a stupid conspiracy film called "Zeitgeist," and inspired by the writing of a madwoman calling herself "Archaya S," and assembled by the "Christianity Was Just An Egyptian Syncretic Religion" kook brigade who are pretty much the intellectual equivalent of the Answers In Genesis nut house. I'm sure it's very entertaining if you're into "The Da Vinci Code," the Illuminati and related exercises in conspiracy theory brain damage. If you care about actual history, ignore this garbage and read something based in reality, like the work of E.P. Sanders, Bart Ehrman or Geza Vermes for starters. -

“Clever enough that the information will go over the heads of 95% of the Witnesses who read it and convince them that they have the troof!”
There are plenty of think tanks for intelligent design.
Evolution is a form of deception so at times Jehovah's Organization addresses it but their main focus is teaching the truth about God not debunking evolution.

"Now I am going to quote from AIW's quote from Francis Collins,
"The evidence supporting the idea that all living things are descended from a common ancestor is truly overwhelming. I would not necessarily wish that to be so, as a Bible believing Christian, but it is so."
So, Macro-evolution is not scientifically in doubt then."
In his book he makes a case for theistic evolution. Atheistic evolution is in doubt by those who acknowledge the truth about reality. Some people prefer the godless worldview. This has more to do with the person than any findings in biology.
DNA is a nucleic acid that contains the genetic instructions used in the development and functioning of all known living organisms. The main role of DNA molecules is the long-term storage of information. Upon execution, the genetic instructions translate into taxonomical differences (structural, anatomical, physiological, etc) in different species.
DNA can work like code/data. I don't know how much you know about programming languages, but a single language can be used to design some very different programs.
Physical findings, lately made by genetic analysis, just bolster confidence in what we already know about humans and other species; we share some common biological attributes (because we were designed by the same designer):
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/11591642
Comparison of human sequences with the DNA of other mammals is an excellent means of identifying functional elements in the human genome. Here we describe the utility of high-density oligonucleotide arrays as a rapid approach for comparing human sequences with the DNA of multiple species whose sequences are not presently available. High-density arrays representing approximately 22.5 Mb of nonrepetitive human chromosome 21 sequence were synthesized and then hybridized with mouse and dog DNA to identify sequences conserved between humans and mice (human-mouse elements) and between humans and dogs (human-dog elements).Evolutionists seem to think by comparing human sequences, this is evidence we descended from dogs and mice, etc. Detecting Darwinism at the molecular level would mean observing gene duplication events in macroevolution for example, not identifying sequences between humans and a dog.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gene_duplication#Gene_duplication_as_an_evolutionary_event
Gene duplication is believed to play a major role in evolution; this stance has been held by members of the scientific community for over 100 years. Susumu Ohno was one of the most famous developers of this theory in his classic book Evolution by gene duplication (1970). Ohno argued that gene duplication is the most important evolutionary force since the emergence of the universal common ancestor.
Major genome duplication events are not uncommon but these events never play any part in the evolution of a new species through successive generations. It's just theorized it plays a role without any qualifying evidence.
After 100 years with no direct observation, it's reasonable to conclude it would take a miracle for this to take place on a consistent basis. That brings us back to theistic evolution.
