So I can deal with a whole army of opponents and you can't deal with one?

Ex Jehovah's Witness Forum and Recovery Site

What we have here is not.
read the account of moses taking the credit for the water provision miracle and that of king david's folly and his consequences.. ...read them.... ...you are still reading.... ...ok now you have that fresh in your mind.. jehovah had a correctional arrangement in place for all his spokesmen.
story of jonah would work great too.
the point being that in the bible god has always had this correctional arrangement for the leaders of his earthly organization.. that being said, where did that arrangement go?

"Tammy, you're so sweet!!
I don't have enough respect for Alice to care what she thinks of me.
I'm just at a point in my life where I am strong enough to "prune" people like that out of my life."
While it is fairly clear that you can read, it is glaringly obvious that you don't understand much of what you say. And, the ugly inescapable fact is that it was YOU, not I that started the personal attacks and you just don't stop. I argue against your (silly) arguments, and you reply with a personal attack (one of many).
Most forums have this rule: Personal Attacks - Disagreements are bound to arise between members from time to time. Please respect all posters! If you disagree with someone, don't attack the person, attack the idea.
This forum doesn't have this rule, but I deal with it without throwing a pity party.

"If you shun someone you are judging them, something Christ forbade."
One episode of Jerry Springer was a man who married a horse. What about then?

"Alice, why do you think there is so much hostility towards the Organization on this website? (an in turn you). Because of the shunning arrangment! Nothing more, nothing less.
If that arrangement didn't exist the hostilities of ex members would almost completely fade away.
These people are in a rock and a hard place, because they refuse to accept something that they don't believe, plain and simple. No one can blame anyone on this planet for following their conscience, no one. But yet they are, and they called weak, feeble, blind and to quote you: disgusting.
The WT exiles these people, drags their good names through the dirt, and the has the audacity to categorize them as persecuters when they have something negative to say about it.
I have gotten my answer to my first question. The answer is that you are not here to answer anything youself, but only to blindly defend Watchtower Doctrine and Policy.
Farewell, I'm tired of responding you.

If you push counter doctrines in any Church, Cathedral, Synagogue, Mosque; there may not be a formal discharge but you'll be systematically pushed out the door. Go to a Catholic Church and try and promote orthodox Judaism, tell them Jesus was a false prophet and watch what happens. That's why these buildings are not on the service territory in Jehovah's Witnesses ministry. There's a time and a place for everything and that's not the place to press counter beliefs. Why would anyone who consecutively breaks God's law want to hang with people who don't break God's laws? The shunning arrangement doesn't go against freewill so what's the complaint?

“Alice...
Im not gonna jump on the band wagon and bash you. Instead I would like to ask you something.”
You say this like you're bestowing some sort of privilege on me. I don't care if you bash me or not. In the context of this forum all this does is enforce in my mind how disgusting someone's personality has become since they left the truth and not to follow suit. It's not like them leaving has done any good for their inner self.
80% of the posts here personal attacks and the remaining 15% are mostly just intellectual claptrap where people are citing things they obviously doesn't actually understand. Even a few questions or statements reveal the fact that they can't follow any of the logic involved which then of course bring on the personal attacks....
Only about 5% are quality discussions (e.g. TD, Leolaia).
“-Why does the WT focus on being different so much?
I look at the org. as a person. A macro. This seems like a person that is trying real hard to stand out because of low self esteem.”
What do you mean “different?”
Different here would mean not sinking to the low sink of debauchery that others do and avoid lying and attacks as a substitute for productive discussion.
Because you do not continue running with them in this course to the same low sink of debauchery, they are puzzled and go on speaking abusively of you. 1 Peter 4:4
If others speak abusively (bashing as you say), that doesn't bother my self-esteem at all, it just clarifies the prior point I made.
i have 2 small kids, ages 4 and 5 yrs and one on the way (via adoption!).
my husband and i faded/suddenly disappeared last fall, never to go back to meetings.
we outed ourselves and told our super hardcore parents/family members that we didn't believe it anymore, were choosing a different path etc.
"Alice:
She's lying because JW's don't act like this?
If she's telling the truth, then she deserves it?
These two statements are in complete conflict with one another. You do realize this, right?
Tammy"
Telling the truth about her family being brainwashed robots. If she really believes this, she might as well terminate communication with these family members asap. If she really believes they're people and not programmed by some puppet master than she's lying.
If I used science fiction: government or religious mind control to describe my family they wouldn't like me either. Everyone in my family is scientifically literate so they don't use suggested brainwashing theories without empirical proof to describe each other. That's very immature.

I apologise to the board for saying this, but I don't apologise to Alice.
I can't stand when someone like this is in pain and asking for help and telling a painful story and some fargin' icehole calls them a liar.

It's actually worse if this person is telling the truth. I was giving her the benefit of the doubt. You adopt these extreme partisan viewpoints of the "brainwashed cult members," enemies you call “family.” I guess I could call Tiger Woods brainwashed for believing in Buddha: "I like Buddhism because it's a whole way of being and living," Tiger Woods told Sports Illustrated.
I don't. Allthough I disagree, I respect the way of life that makes sense to him. If this person is telling the truth I'm sure the believing family is aware of her cold-hearted stigmatization towards her family's beliefs. She deserves whatever problems come of it. Lie all you want. I'm not the close-minded, partisan troll.
i initially joined this group a couple of years back thinking it would be a great place to spread the real good news about deism.
if you're unfamiliar with deism, please check out the site:.
http://www.deism.com.
Deism was generally a response to medieval religions, because of a higher clergy that recruited from nobility and saw their office mainly as a source of prestige and power. Most people are deists because evolution can't truly explain the origin of the natural world and they view religion as a man-made storefront for the natural world's explanation of God.

"Shut up, Alice."
What else is there to conclude about this person's family except that it is completely screwed up and it's all the “cult's” fault. You'll only get advice about this “situation” from those that enjoy a study diet of supermarket tabloid.

I don't even take the “family” stories ppl tell here at all seriously. I know many families with unbelieving family members. Jehovah's Witnesses never take this antagonistic rant toward unbelieving family. Whether the supposed “family members” exist or not they're nothing but expendable pawns in your anti-JW scheme.
