Debator. I'd like to reply to the whole humans being imperfect excuse. Back in the day these so called imperfect men were clearly inspired by god and designated as his people. (King david,moses,the israelites etc) the big problem comes for me when you have a modern day group of imperfect men who are not clearly identified as his people in the bible or you don't see any type of miraculous god sent signs...when one person or group thinks they're right and everyone else wrong they're either fanatics or liars or both. Why do you think there are sooo many different shoots of christianity? Maybe because there is so many scriptures and doctrines that are so open to interpretation. And since we all need something to believe in then there's something for everybody, from the laid back catholics to the wts. Just because you profess to use gods name in your religion does not give you "exclusive dibs" on the one true religion. This is when I ask myself "is that their excuse for all the flip flops and ever changing light?" Or is this just another group of men using religion to get what men always want : power and money.

Of course!! I've come a looong way since getting out two years ago. I used to let people walk up and down and all over me. Its what messed up my marriage, as opposed to working out your marital problems together, there's always some stupid elder who knows what's going on and they use the elder system to play on the whole fear tactics that are instilled in our heads. Being a doormat is synonymous with being a jw. As the jws teach you and drill into your subconcious the need to "follow uncondionally the slaveclass" (otherwise known as the watchtower corp)

My ex got counselled by an elders wife for wearing a denim skirt. It was down to her calves so discreet an all. But this other piousnear sister never got counselled for her super tight skirts with the long crack down the side. I also got counselled for missing meetings when I was in the middle of building my house. And also for missing meetings and being inactive in the fs when my baby was born just to name a few. Oh also for working to much. And all these things I was counselled on I was told I could have privileges (passing the mikes, reading the wt etc..) If they were improved. Sorry I don't need your goddamn watchtower stripes to make me feel important. It works for that 35 year old ms brother who's still single and cleans windows cuz he needs that "pat on the shoulder" to make him feel important.

once she got to the short stories i wrote 3 years ago, autobiographical, some of it involving her, i knew i wouldn't be going to bed before 1:00 (it was 11:40 p.m. by then).

Sounds like a carbon copy of my marriage which ultimately led to me leaving the org. I'm telling u its no fun. I literally detested going home, like you, a prisoner in ur own life. I cut her out and I cut out the cult...it took a little while like any major surgery recovery...and its good to be free. Besides making stupid mistakes which I can only blame myself for and which are human (not cuz I don't have the spirit of the wts with me) Take the time to think things through, lay out a gameplan and go for it without looking back.

also on saturday - i would have been a member of this board for a whole year.. to think a year ago i was an elder in the process of waking up, thinking about how to get my family out.
now i am fully awake and out, my wife is with me and the jw's are but a distant memory for my kids..

last year i upgraded from boyfriend 5.0 to husband 1.0 and noticed a distinct slow-down in overall system performance, particularly in the flower and jewelry applications, which operated flawlessly under boyfriend 5.0. in addition, husband 1.0 uninstalled many other valuable programs, such as romance 9.5 and personal attention 6.5 and then installed undesirable programs such as nfl 5.0, nhl 3.0 and golf clubs 4.1. conversation 8.0 no longer runs and housecleaning 2.6 simply crashes the system.
please note that i have tried running nagging 5.3 to fix these problems, but to no avail.

Ladies ladies!! Sounds like you have a complicated problem with a simple solution. All you have to do to fix this problem is install the latest version of smile 5.0, update your old hard drive with the newest version of sex drive 6.9 and ur set! Turn on the new system and be amazed at how smooth and fast everything runs. Lol! If that doesn't work, then change the whole thing for a new one, they sometimes are defective.
