  curious; most profession you need a degree.

  i know of several minister.

  It depends on what sort of 'degree' you're talking about. You can go for a Bachelor of Arts (BA), Bachelor of Religious Education (BRE) degree or simply a Certificate in Christian Studies. You can get a MTh (Master of Theology) or a MDiv (Master of Divinity). I'm not sure what qualifications the various denominations demand, but I think many of the mainstream Christian churches expect that their minister have at least a BA.

  You see many whacko TV Evangalists who, I'm fairly certain, do not have a degree in anything except conning people. Then there's the WTS who sends their men to 'elder school' to learn a very slanted view of anything and everything.

  sorry people - not been on here for ages.

  getting on with life and all that.

  i still attend some meetings.. i want to be lazy and wonder if somebody could post some bullet points on what has happened in the last 12 months.. here is what i already know.. raymond franz diedkm school - new elders textbook - posted online before many elders have seen it - priceless!hawaii branch closed and comes under us branch - sept 2010irish branch closing and coming under the oversight of the british branch - many irish brothers pissed off by this.

  How big is/was your congregation?

  our publisher count was about 130-135.

  Several years ago, the congregation average was about 120+. Memorial attendance at one point was getting close to the 200 mark with many having to stand as there were no seats left. It was decided that because Jehovah was 'speeding it up', the congregations had to be split in two in preparation for all the newbies that were going to be coming in. Didn't quite work out that way. Within 3 years, so many had either quit going or had moved, that there were no more than 40 or 50 in each congregation, so they put the congregations back together. Last year at the Memorial, I was shocked to see that the Hall was only 3/4 full. I think there was about 125 there.

  What I think they find really embarassing is the fact that all the churches in this area are filled to capacity on Sundays. Doesn't seem quite fair to JWs that they spend tens of thousands of hours in Field Serve-Us every year, and they have fewer attendees than what Babylon the Great does.

  Ah yes, the good ol' day of brekie before the Snore-sembly began at Copps Coliseum in Hamilton. I remember walking through Jackson Square on day a couple of years ago at lunch time and sure enough Druxies was packed with disobedient Dubs snarfing down their yummilicious sandwiches they made there.

  Ya, but the idiots don't even offer anything to drink or eat to the masses at the ASSemblies anymore.....so that one truly boggles the mind. Man, these guys are even nuttier than what I originally thought......

  I love the idea of the watchtower covers, but I suspect legal would be all over it.

  Ya, but what on earth can they possibly sue for? Having their own words come back to bite them in the ass?

  Oh wait a minute, they already tried that with Quotes...........That would still be a scream and a half to try it..........
