Well, I walked in and got the love-bombing before I even made it past the foyer. Everyone's missed me, everyone's thrilled that I came, blah, blah, blah. To be fair though, there were a few there that I do miss so it was nice to see them. The opening song---The Lord's Evening Meal was terrible, as they changed the notes around so now it sounds like a freaking death march. Sat down and listened to the talk and we all know that they use a pre-approved outline made up no doubt, by Jehovah himself.
In years past, I found it both insulting and angering that there was little mention of Jesus and the entire focus was on who gets to partake of the emblems. This year was even nuttier than usual. Even less mention of Jesus this year (no surprise there), but there wasn't anywhere near the time spent on 'who gets to partake' as there was about every other subject that had absolutely nothing to do with the night Jesus died. They read from Genesis 2 after talking about why we're all sinners and he started going on and on about all the thousands of different kinds of fruit trees there would have been in the Garden of Eden and how Adam was never deprived of hunger and I thought 'WTF?' How the hell does that have anything to do with the night Jesus died?
He then went on about Daniel 2:44 and God's government and how close we are to seeing it--------And I'm sitting there thinking 'You gonna mention Jesus at all?' Nope. Hell he even made more mention of the earthquake in Japan than what he did Jesus. One thing that struck me though was when they were passing the wine around. He emphasized that the wine represented Jesus' blood that was sacrificed---it wasn't his actual blood they were drinking. I suddenly thought "ya, so why don't you use that same logic when it comes to bloodrepresenting life---it's not more precious than life itself you assholes."
He then started going from Psalms (to 'prove' that 99.99% of humans do not belong in heaven) to Corinthians to Revelation to I-can't-remember-where to prop up the main purpose of being there: so that we can't participate. He even said "Will there be any here who will partake tonight? Probably not." Ya, like that's not a huge red flag that they're very uncomfortable with the numbers going up every year. LOL. After the closing prayer, some greaseball came up to me as I was talking to an old friend and introduced himself. He's either divorced or widowed and he wanted me to know that he was horny 'available'. Uh, ya....thanks for letting me know buddy. I didn't recognize him so he must've moved into the congregation in the last few years after I stopped going.
Anyway, got the hell out of there and no, I will not be going to the 'special talk' on May 1st (if this System lasts that long!). Sometimes I think it's almost good that I go to the Memorial as a reminder as to why I left this ridiculous religion.
Total snorefest and crazy to boot.................

i just came back from the memorial
by J. Hofer init wasn't all that bad.
met a few friends who also don't give too much about it and had some great laughs afterwards.
we talked about how we still remember when only about 7000 took from the emblems and now its more than 11000. we also laughed about how it would look like having jesus and his disciples pass around wine and bread on a plate like that.. all in all it was the same procedure as every year.

Mary, why are you still going to the memorial? Are you still active?
Good lord no--I haven't been to a regular meeting for about 5 years now I think. No, I go for my elderly parents. They don't shun me or any of my friends who no longer go, even though they know I think it's a crock of shit. They don't preach at me, so I figure that the one night per year when they sheepishly ask "would you like to come to the Memorial?" I can do it for them. It makes them happy and in a few years, they'll be gone, so I bite the bullet for them.

I have to leave in about 3 hours for it too.......oh god, I should have went and got a bottle of wine beforehand. Ah well---good news (no pun intended) is that it's only 1/2 an hour or 45 minutes of listening to who gets to partake and who doesn't.

Start preparing now for 2011 memorial night demonstration ! Sunday, April 17, 2011, after sundown
by koolaid-man innow is a good time to start making preparations for the memorial night demonstration at your kingdom hall sunday, april 17, 2011, after sundown.
the evils of the watchtower org.have to be exposed and this is an ideal time to do it.
many around the world have been adversely affected by their association with jehovah's witnesses.

You all looked bad before I showed up and nothing has changed
Excuse me? You can't possibly be serious with this statement. If you are then the magnitude of your delusion is matched only by the grotesqueness of your lying and self-promotion. You and your show have had absolutely no contribution in making anyone on here 'look good' and the only person who 'looks bad' now is yourself, so perhaps you can give yourself a pat on the back for that.

look the memorial is tonight and I don't care what the Jews are doing"
Ya.....I mean why on earth would the Jews know their own history? What a bunch of idiots.....Actually, here's the uh 'official' explanation as to why God's Chosen Ones knows the history of God's (Previous) Chosen Ones better than the Previous Chosen Ones themselves:
"...He thereafter outlined the Lord's Evening Meal, which his followers were to keep as a memorial of his death. (Luke 22:19, 20) The Passover was held once a year. Hence, it is reasonable that the Lord's Evening Meal be kept annually. When? Logically, in the spring at Passover time. That would mean when Nisan 14 (Jewish calendar) fell, rather than always holding to Friday because that was the weekday on which Jesus died.
So Nisan 14 would be the date Paul had in mind when he wrote: "As often as you eat this loaf and drink this cup, you keep proclaiming the death of the Lord, until he arrives." (1 Corinthians 11:26) For the next two centuries, many Christians held to Nisan 14, they being known as Quartodecimans, from the Latin for "14th." M'Clintock and Strong report: "The churches of Asia Minor celebrated the death of the Lord on the day corresponding to the 14th of the month Nisan, on which day, according to the opinion of the whole ancient Church, the crucifixion took place." Today, Jehovah's Witnesses keep the Lord's Evening Meal annually on the date corresponding to Nisan 14. Some have noted, though, that this may differ from the date when Jews hold their Passover. Why?
The Hebrew day ran from sunset (about six o'clock) to the next sunset. God commanded that the Passover lamb be killed on Nisan 14 "between the two evenings." (Exodus 12:6) When would that be? Modern Jews cling to the rabbinical view that the lamb was to be slaughtered near the end of Nisan 14, between the time when the sun began to descend (about three o'clock) and the actual sunset. As a result, they hold their Seder after sundown, when Nisan 15 has begun.-Mark 1:32.
We have good reason, however, to understand the expression differently. Deuteronomy 16:6 clearly told the Israelites to "slaughter the passover sacrifice, in the evening, at sundown." (Jewish Tanakh version) This indicates that "between the two evenings" referred to the twilight period, from sunset (which begins Nisan 14) to actual darkness. The ancient Karaite Jews understood it this way, as do Samaritans down to today. Our accepting that the Passover lamb was sacrificed and eaten "at its appointed time" on Nisan 14, not on Nisan 15, is one reason why our Memorial date sometimes differs from the Jewish date.-Numbers 9:2-5.
Another reason why our date may differ from that of the Jews is that they employ a predetermined calendar, which system was not fixed until the fourth century C.E. Using this, they can set dates for Nisan 1 or for festivals decades or centuries beforehand. Moreover, the ancient lunar calendar needed to have a 13th month added occasionally so that the calendar would synchronize with the seasons. The current Jewish calendar adds this month at fixed points; in a 19-year cycle, it is added to years 3, 6, 8, 11, 14, 17, and 19.
However, Emil Schürer says that "at the time of Jesus [the Jews] still had no fixed calendar, but on the basis of purely empirical observation, began each new month with the appearance of the new moon, and similarly on the basis of observation" added a month as needed. "If . . . it was noticed towards the end of the year that Passover would fall before the vernal equinox [about March 21], the intercalation of a month before Nisan was decreed." (The History of the Jewish People in the Age of Jesus Christ, Volume 1) The extra month thus comes in naturally, not being added arbitrarily.
The Governing Body of Jehovah's Witnesses establishes the date for the Lord's Evening Meal in line with the ancient method. Nisan 1 is determined by when the new moon nearest the spring equinox can likely be observed at sunset in Jerusalem. Counting 14 days from that brings one to Nisan 14, which usually corresponds to the day of the full moon. (See The Watchtower of June 15, 1977, pages 383-4.)
This date corresponds to Nisan 14, which was when Jesus held the last valid Passover. However, celebrating the Memorial brings into focus salvation beyond what the Jewish Seder commemorates. All of us need to understand what takes place during the Lord's Evening Meal, what it means, and how our salvation is involved."------February 15, 1990 Watchtower, pars. 19-26 From Seder to Salvation

Could this set a precedent regarding the blood issue??
by Morbidzbaby inhttp://abcnews.go.com/health/autism/kristen-labrie-sentenced-10-years-prison-withholding-sons/story?id=13383251&cid=espnheadline.
this mother was sentenced to 8 to 10 years for attempted murder because she refused to give her 9 year old son his chemotherapy medication, and thus it resulted in his death.. my first thought was that perhaps this is a stepping stone to parents being held responsible for not permitting lifesaving blood transfusions for their minor children, no matter if it is on religious grounds.
this woman's excuse was that the side effects of the medication were "painful" for her son (yet his resulting slow agonizing death was much more painful).

The Society couldn't give a rat's ass if the parents were held liable for refusing blood transfusions for their kids-----they'd just tell the parents to suck it up all for the 'greater glory'.
Now if the Slobbering Body members were held accountable, then you'd see them getting 'new light' on the subject at warp speed. Suddenly, it would become a 'conscience matter' if they themselves were facing time in the Big House.
