No tape recorders allowed eh? Says who? It's not in the Constitution and I would definitely agree with Francois that this is a violation of your basic Civil Rights. Without proof of what they're accusing you of, they could disfellowship you on a whim and spread the most vicious of lies about why you were axed (see Ray Franz, Bill Bowen and Barbara Anderson as examples).
Kind of like when the Dallas Police (very corrupted at the time) interrogated Lee Harvy Oswald without him having Legal Representation and NO ONE recorded, either on paper or on tape, one word that was said). That way, they could promote the idea that he and he alone killed JFK and that's exactly what they did.
If I were to sit before a JC, I would most certainly have a small tape recorder in my pocket or under my shirt and there's not a damn thing they can do about it. Assholes.

the name Ouija comes from the French words Oui (meaning yes) and Ja (meaning no). This is what's on the ouija boards "Yes" and "No"..........

'Rocky asked: I wonder what would happen if while an elder was giving a slide show during a sunday talk, up pops pictures of naked children.....
It would either be blamed on Satan or the local apostates...........
I've never understood what is it about children that grown men find sexually appealling........sick bastards.

Anyone taken legal action in DF'ing?
by startingover ina close friend of mine, in fact a lurker here, got a call last night inviting him to a jc meeting, accused of apostasy.
he would like to avoid this because of the things it would complicate, and would like to just be left alone.
i know in the past i have read comments of some who have threatened legal action in this situation.

StartingOver said: " I got a call last night inviting him to a jc meeting, accused of apostasy. He would like to avoid this because of the things it would complicate, and would like to just be left alone."
If they've already got a Judical Committe set up, then they obviously are gonna try and get him DF'd. He's got a couple of choices: one is to simply ignore their request and hopefully, they'll quit bugging him. If they don't, he can either meet with them in HIS home (I wouldn't go to the Hall if I were him) and simply deny everything. Unless he had "two witnesses" who personally witnessed him apostacizing, then they got no case. Or three, tell him to make a date and then at the last minute, cancel it. Just keep doing this and after 7 or 8 times, they should leave him alone.
Does he go to the Hall now? If not, they got no business even asking him what he's doing with his life. He could also tell them to piss off and mind their own business or he'll sue them in civil court. That might make them think twice cause then alot of elders might be looking at losing their houses..........

Better say what they want to hear
by JH in.
did it bother you that you had to make comments that reflected their way of thinking all the time.
wouldn't you have loved to say something completely different from what they expected to hear, when making a comment.

There are two topics that I refuse to bend on, while answering at the Hall, because I know I'm right.
Every time we have a study on the Good Samaritan, and someone's comments liken the illustration to preaching, I put up my hand and comment that this illustration has nothing to do with preaching, it's talking about helping with the MATERIAL needs of our so-called enemies. You can hear a pin drop after that.
The second topic was when we were studying The Greatest Man book. Chapter 117. Paragraph 3 talks about when Jesus was praying shortly before his death: ' "My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass away from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will." What does he mean? Is he backing down from his decision to die and provide the ransom? Not at all! Jesus is not appealing to be spared from death..........Rather, he is in agony because he fears that they way he will soon die--as a despicable criminal--will bring reproach upon his Father's name.'
So they're saying that "this cup" is just Jesus fear of bringing reproach upon Jehovah's name and that he's not really asking to be spared from death. This simply isn't true and I bring their attention to chapter 98 of the very same book that also talks about "this cup": Jesus asks his disciples: "Can you drink the cup that I am about to drink?" "We can" they answer. Even though Jesus has just told them that he faces terrible persecution and finally execution, they apprently do not comprehend that this is what he means by "the cup" he is about to drink.
Well DUUUUH!!! It's pretty clear that the persecution and execution are "the cup" Jesus was talking about. But naturally, non one can think for themselves so I brought this to everyone's attention. One sister kept arguing with me but I got the better of her.
5 people came up to me after the bookstudy and thanked me profusely for bringing this out as they had come to the very same conclusion as me, only they were too afraid to say anything.

Carmel said: Kind of like the "Christian" crusaders, huh? Yep those darn fanatical muslims sure do have a franchise on stupidity!
You're right, Christians were no better during the Crusades, but IMHO, there's a big difference between what happened a thousand years ago and now. A thousand years ago, the average person was also illiterate and were totally controlled by the Church. You thought these leaders were in direct contact with God and to question them was punishable by death.
Fast forward a thousand years. Christians, in most countries now, are literate and are allowed to think for themselves. They're allowed to reason, ask questions and decide for themselves what, if any, religion is best for them. They realize that alot of what is in the bible was based on their culture at the time, and does not apply today (slavery, equal rights for women). They are allowed to pursue their goals in life, get a good job, question authority if it makes no sense, and attend the church of their choice.
Present day Muslims, at least in the Middle East are allowed no such freedoms. Questioning either Islam or the government of Islam is punishable by death. Many women are illiterate. Reasoning, asking questions, or using birth control will result in severe punishment, if not death. You are not allowed to choose your own religion or question authority. In other words, present day Islam is a thousand years behind the times.
