Is the WTBTS having cash flow problems?

i was at a 2 day circuit assembly this weekend and i was surprised at how many times mention was made directly or indirectly reminding those in attendance (1,600) of the need to give $$$.

even in the soliloquies or skits they seemed to work in the need to give $$$.. it made me wonder if the society is having 'cash flow' problems and hence is desparate for cash.

over the years that i've attended conventions and assemblies the need to give $$$ has been subtle (imo), til now.

I'm sure people do have that option. But they will have to work out how to accept one-off donations in a world that is becoming plastic.

I am sure there are donation only ATM type machines to be got at some point and they will be discreetly placed where donation boxes once were.

I know of some Christendom Churches that have already made the changover but I also know that Witnesses are letting this change-over happen as slowly and naturally as the economy allows.

Most shops and companies use ATMs now and as you said direct bank transfers.

I don't think it won't be that long before the only time we will see coins is on walls in a private collection for people to wonder at.

When I go into self-service supermarkets facing a long line of self-pay machines at the end of a shop. It just seems to be changing over so very fast.

Interesting use of current culture changes to imply wrongdoing on the part of Witnesses.

fact..We are changing from a paper world to a plastic one.

Will you still be trying to sell this argument when we use credit cards to the complete exclusion of paper money and coinage?

Eventully the KH halls and assemblies will have to have ATM's for people to donate since plastic is becoming the currently most popular mode of currency transfer.

When changing from one mode of currency to another the change-over time is difficult but inevitable.

Just count how many times you actually use paper money and coinage in your lifes now and see the problem without your anti-witness blinkers on, twisting and blurring your objectivity!

I am not going to quote a watchtower but when they are interpreting already written Bible prophecy They use the words "current understanding " which shows that the current understanding could change as time goes on because prophecy is the only Bible area where we have to look outside of the Bible for fulfilment.

To say "mistake" is to say they put these down as absolutes but they have never made that claim on prophecy understanding.

We as God's people agree on the current understanding as a people because we are simply told too by the Bible (Paul was specific on this). Division over intepretation would simply be going against the rule of non-division and to be in agreement that we have been given.

I think that anyone that has left Witnesses over prophecy disgreement is foolish to say the least! given the Bible history on prophecies.

Prophecies prepare us for Armageddon but there is no perfection of understanding expected of us on them. But to avoid using prophecies is suicide as Christendom shows because they lose the whole point of why we/mankind are given God's word and what our future is.

What you talk about is a world-wide problem! If you look at the stats you cannot walk down any street, or building or organisation without someone of that type being among them such is the world we live in.

Jehovah can get rid of what our governments can only imprison or try to catch and that does not happen until after Armageddon!

If you also want to blame God for this you forget the point of freewill. Humans cannot be forced to be good they have to come to understand why they have to live by God's standards of love otherwise all you are asking is that God just manipulates us like puppets and we will never learn.

Prophecy interpretation is an easy target and you know it. The Jews interpreted prophecy wrong all the time but it did not stop them being God's people. Jesus himself had to explain which prophecies he fulfilled concerning the Messiah, hundreds of them.

In fact the one basic truth about prophecies is that they never happen as imperfect humans expect them too but we are still meant to use them so we can at least be prepared "keep on the watch" even though we know we will not know 100% until after fulfilment.

Your argument is invalid the Bible clearly shows that we need to preach, teach and explain the Bible not just hand out copies and say "there you go" The principle of this point is with Jesus who also had to explain the scriptures refering back to scripture and every prophet and apostles that did the same.

This is not a sin but actually following the Bible examples.

Jesus often jumped back to hebrew scriptures to confirm his teachings. And then we have the apostles. Do you know how many times the hebrew scriptures are referenced in the greek scriptures?

I will let you research that one. With their hopscotching back to the hebrew scriptures the greek scriptures would lose validity by your words.

It is silly to expect Perfection from Imperfection. The Bible doesn't say God's people will be faultless only that they will be easily recognisable as his people by what they believe, teach and do.

Again you put the false teaching of "imperfection of men" on the table to stumble yourself and others.

We are Jehovah's witnesses because our God is Jehovah and we do his will!

Trinity brochure huh? since it is discussing a teaching that is not found in the bible by name or even concept. I would say there is very little Bible they could bring up on it accept the scriptures that show Jehovah is our one true God and father.

They are left showing how the false teaching of trinity grew from greek philosophy and Jesus worship. To the point where they even needed to add false words to scripture aka 1 john 5:7 to support it in later centuries as people began to read the Bible for themselves.

With respect try quoting from the whole of deut 18 to get the context fully!

Since this is the bible blueprint chapter for knowing if someone is inspired of God or not and a direct prophecy regarding the coming messiah who would himself be inspired.

Witnesses have never claimed inspiration! We have only ever interpreted Already written Bible prophecy and Chronology and this is not a sin even if you get it wrong!

Do not be fooled by not reading or knowing the full context of a scripture Mouthy.
