They don't deny it but neither do they take the blame for something all witnesses were guilty of at that time. The fact that amid all this overwhelming enthusiasm the publications still gave cautionary notes means they managed not to allow enthusiasm of men to rewrite doctrine.

Yes I did comment on it black sheep. There is absolutely no mention of '75 in it. It is simply quoting the standard line of urgency. huh! I can show you one from last month that says similar words on urgency. Sacrifice for pioneering is a stardard line. I think a recent yearbook commended a couple for giving up life-commitments to become special pioneers were the "need is great".

I admired your honesty in realising it is a lack of faith issue.

Although wouldn't it have been easier to simply DA both yourselves? rather than go through a process that is meant to hopefully draw people back from an edge? an edge you and your wife had already stepped over?

Over-enthusiasm (i've already admitted this from the start) obviously with some talks by certain brothers at that time but the definite doctrinal connection was not made in the watchtowers or publications that these men drew their talks from. So they were clearly running ahead of the situation.

Publications and Witnesses alike admit to this enthusiam as a whole that we all suffered from like chinese whisper it swept through us. but unlike 1914 and definite doctrines we have drawn from the bible this was hope running ahead of itself.

If it is one that simply says Armageddon is imminent then I could show you one from last month that says the same. I could show you one from every year the publications where published that say the same. Just posting ones saying this before 1975 is not "cause and effect" they were still saying it in 1976 amd 1977 and so on and so forth.

We live in the end times we know Armageddon is imminent.

I do not condemn out of warmongering or hearsay. Did you just pluck 90% out of the air? This forum seems to be a bottleneck for ex-Jws opinion and so will be biased (to say the least) downright witch-hunting at the worst. They are reading Armageddon into 6000 years since Adam because it suits their ex-JW position.

Over-Generalised opinion from a biased group is hardly factual evidence! What I would admire is bit more objectivity and a little less hysterical reactionism.

Fact - witness publications do not say 75' and armageddon as a doctrine

Fact - hearsay evidence is inadmisaable, My uncle's brother's friend sold his house etc.

Fact - over-enthusiasm is already admitted by both publications and the witnesses but this is not doctrine.

I HATE this religion

so today was my first sunday meeting that i didn't go with my wife.

as an update she has decided not to move out right now...because she doesn't have anywhere to go.

but she is giving me the silent treatment.

She is your wife and you are her husband! do not make your marriage a battle-ground or a place of manipulation!

Atm she is suffering from great feelings of loss and betrayal because that is how she will see your leaving the witnesses. It is like the person you married isn't real anymore and you struggle to see them through this life-changing choice they have put on the family. To her you have rejected jehovah and chosen death over life and now she has to carry the responsibility for the whole family on her shoulders.

If you cannot be a witness at least support her right to be one as a free-thinking human being. I recommend you and your wife come to an amicable agreement over the children you both have, the current or future ones. Your words indicate you were already leaving the majority of family spirituality upto your wife from your own choice.

Try to understand things from your wifes viewpoint is my advice. And avoid posting loads of personal info on these forums if your wife found out you discussed her with strangers she would feel even more betrayal.

when the wtbs says;bethel expansion god's blessing,bethel consolidation god's blessing.. judiciary favorable ruling god's blessing,unfavorable ruling god's blessing.. pray for a court ruling (france/russia).if they win god's bless.if the lose god's bless.is it not the same when football/baseball pray for victory.if the win god blessed them,if they lose god bless them.. b.

We are all representitives of Jehovah's witnesses!

You are simply buying into the false "Them and us" scenario people put forth to avoid facing personal accountability for choices made by you personally.

"she/he made me do it!" is the oldest justification in the bible.

Our shepherds though feeling the effects of this enthusiasm for Armageddon still posted cautionary notes in the watchtower with regards to the 6000 years, while many witnesses allowed themselves be swept away by expectation beyond what is written at that time. To then blame the shepherds is just avoiding personal accountability.

It taught us (as witnesses) a lesson we needed on an individual basis to acknowledge Armageddon will come when Jehovah deems it not by our own demands. It also weeded out people only serving Jehovah for the reward alone.

Do you hate Jehovah now because you didn't get your paradise then?
