by JT ini thought the name of this thread was so on time for this thread demostrates one of the sad things about claiming to speak for god, when one actually does not.. when i was a newly appointed elder at the tender age of 27 .
i was introduced to the world of the judical committee.. it was in fact my first case.
i had gotten a call from the po before the meeting stating that their would be an elders meetings to discuss some judical matters.

-i shared some of this last week with a NONJW and he almost flipped out
it is amazing at how when a jw reads or heards these things at the meeitng they think it is the greatest since sliced bread
yet when a NONJW reads this stuff they realize that JW are a
"FEW FRIES SHORT OF A HAPPY MEAL"

you have summed up my entire point andi want to thank you- i agree not every elders meeting is handled this way
but it is the SYSTEM that jw have in place that does what it doesthe same with the issue of child molestation i know of no elder who would not be concerned about a child being a victim
yet if he must decide between the name of the org or the name of the person THE PERSON LOSES EACH TIMES
and that once again is the problem with the SYSTEM PROTECT THE ORG AT ALL COST

1975 - After 26 years isn't it time to move on?
by digderidoo ini'm relatively new on this site...but one subject i've noticed that seems to create alot of interest is that of 1975.. our family became witnesses it 1983 so i wasn't around at the time.
forgive me if i do not understand why many were so angry with the wts at the time.. i understand the point that the society blamed individual witnesses and didn't take any responsibility themselves.
i can see how witnesses got angry over that.. but, what i do not understand is why many still research into what the society said, or didn't say, or insinuated.

but then consider what choice do they have- if one stayed after 75 they had no choice but to down play it otherwise they would be called apostates and kicked out-as you so clearly pointed out these are major factors- i personally don't focus on jw too much due to the power indoctrination process of wt 5 meetings, and ton of books to read- so when trying to get them to reason is very difficult unless they are having questions and are willing to use /Critical thinking otherwise it is a waste of time
but i love NONJW - persons who have not bought into the WE SPEAK FOR GOD DON'T QUESTION US MINDSET
no nonjw are quick to see the double standard one for thier church and another for wt even though they make the same mistake on a dogma
wt says they are a false religion when they have a dogma no based on the bible but merely the opinion of thier leadersyet when it is shown that wt has a dogma not based on the bible but merely the opinon of the Boys in Writing
wt kicks into the WE MEANT WELL MODE
and beleive me when you show a nonjw that they see it like day
so the net provides the info not only for jw who are starting to use Critical thinking but for folks who may be looking into wt
as i told my father-in law when on studies they are highly commended and praised for asking lots and lots of questions yet the day they hit the water they can't ask one single question ESP in the context OF THE ORG IS WRONG

please don't do that - keep in mind that he merely reflect the intense training and indoctrination that wt uses on it's members
esp those who become jw after the factanyone who becomes a jw after 95 will never know that the 1914 gen was not suppose to die off before the end 0 smile
as you know any jw who was around if they were to talk about the error of the society in relationship to this issue 1975 would be Dogged by the avg jw
This poster provides an excellent glisp inside the mind of a jw who has been progrmammed to disregard anything the wt has said that is more than 3 weeks old

keep in mind that it is due to the lack of critical thinking that has kept so many jw victims of wt
the avg person after being duped once would not allow themselves to be duped twice as they say

the second shame on me for allowing you to dupe me
yet jw year after yr are duped yet they never realize that they have been duped
the wt has counted on the fact that the avg jw will accept whatever they are told.
it reminds me of a program i saw of some young 18yr skinheads who were in a forum with Nazi surviors and they could not get it
since they were not there while these old folks in thier 80' 90's saw first hand the suffering -
that is what i often see among younger jw be they current or former jw many times
they simply have no idea what it was like
my mom cried many nights due to being pregnant with my baby bro

my mom cried out of SHEAR FEAR
YET TODAY my bro is 27 and has a 5 yr old kid

you appear to be confusing providing folks with info that many don't know or they fail to understand the CONTEXT with having no life
many of us have left Wt and and indeed moved on with our lives
my wife and i have returned to college, we have started our own IT biz here in the Washington DC are , moved inton a 3700sq foot custom built home that all the jw view as being materialist and trying to carve Nich in this old system.
yet we have the empathy and feeling and desire to assist anyone who wants to know that they are working for a Corp based out of NY that has promised millions of folks something that they can't deliver
each one deals with their pain and hurt of being Bamboozled and Hoodwinked by WT in different ways
as far as research is concerned - today with the NET with the /click of a mouse it has all been done for you
i had to do little if any real research for it was all layed out here on the net by others.
many times cancer victims or rape victims enjoy working with others who exp what they did since they can relate to the pain and suffering
well the same with wt - as a black man i was told no education was needed the end was around the corner and i beleived thaYT well it turnde out that i along with millions of kids from the 60's 70' 80's didnt go to college well some 20+yrs later we are getting the shaft in the real world due to followin what we were told was FOOD FROM GOD but it utrnedout to me no more than the OPINIONS OF THE BOYS IN WRITNG
like many jw are finding out each day-
if the wt had stayed with bible commmetary they would in my opinion have been just fine
but they didn't instead they moved from merely a student of the word to the VERY MOUTH PC OF GOD HIMSELF-
just wondering what is your current status
but rest assured we have indeed moved on with our lives my life has never been better like this AM no meeting and no more selling of worthless books wasting my entire weekends for some 30yrs

to say that they MEANT WELL will not cut it for the person who does Critical Thinking- for if that is the case any religion could say
WE MEANT WELL and let's wait till the Lord sees fit to change things
what this new poster will be challenged with it to exmaine the DOUBLE STANDARD by which wt deals with other faiths who go out on the limb as it were in god's name and how they want to be treated when they do the exact same thing

it has often been said that a man who doesn't know his history/where he came from -- has no idea as to where he is going--
the reason 75 is often raised is to help persons like yourself see that the claim of the wt despite being lofty is incorrect
we have no desire to AGREE with the WT, why--- why would anyone want to agree with someone who is WRONG
